Huge game for Georgia Tech tonight

They're playing Tusculum College, in what has to be the most random February game in ACC history.

Don't knock it! I am sure that Tusculum will get the ThrillerDome rocking tonight. And hey as recently as 2009 the Women's Volleyball team reached the NCAA Division II tournament.

All joking aside, what can the school gain at this time of year with an exhibition game like such now? I would think the risks outweigh the benefits(injury, etc). I remember Syracuse many years ago had a couple in season exhibitions, but I think it may have had to do with an NCAA punishment in the 1990's. Memory a bit foggy on that lol.

Never trust anybody from Georgetown, Duke or Tusculum.

This is up there with Alabama playing Chattanooga the week before the Iron Bowl.

Another reason the RPI is so flawed (from the article):

For the Division I team, it has the benefit of counting toward its record but not its RPI score, where a game against a lower-tier mid-major could hurt its RPI.
