Huge what if..

It's fascinating. All of a sudden half the posters new favorite player is the son of the parent posting and the ability of the player multiplies by 10. Just as an example: an outsider who came here would have thought Warren Sapp was on the team, when we had Steven Clark.
The uprising from some on here against a team doctor was a sight to behold.

Ones I clearly remember are Perry Patterson's grandma, BJ Johnson's uncle I think, DeVitos dad, McKinley Williams dad. People change their behavior A LOT.

Trey Fairchild's dad
Alec Lemon's dad (to his credit he was one of the more level headed guys we had)
Dorian Graham's dad was on rivals?
Forgot about Trey's dad. Seemed like a nice enough fella but him being on here turned Trey into the next Marvin for some people.

I wasn't on the board when Grandma Patterson was here, but it seems like I really missed out!

It was BJ Johnson's Dad. Seemed like a great guy, but the praise heaped upon his son by some was very over the top. Everyone who posts here obviously loves the team and appreciates the efforts of all of the guys, but some people love to pucker up. I understand why kids do that sometimes to "fit in," but grown adults - it comes off as weird, and artificial.

BJ's dad was cool.

And frankly, BJ was a pretty decent player for us, had some solid contributions during his time here. Almost single-handedly won a game vs. Notre Dame for us.

He desperately needed a RS year, since he was young for his class, and really skinny.
Which he got while transferring, and it paid off for him, in spades.

I thought BJ could have had a very CJ Fair career arc had he stayed.
Is that over the top?

It's exactly what happened for him after transferring.
And he actually went further with his Pro career than CJ did, who never made it beyond G-League.

The parent poster situations have proven to be pretty cringeworthy at times, and typically they do not end well.

At the end of the day, some people are just jersey chasers. And being able to talk to a parent really kind of gets them going. Hey, to each their own I guess.

But, there’s been some really good parents who were able to handle things really well, better than I’d ever be able to.

I think that the important thing I’ve learned over the years is that you never know who’s on the other side of the screen. I think there’s a number of people who’d be very surprised at who frequentsthe board.

I just hope that every parent who sends their kid here has a good experience.

Shy Cullen's dad, Bambrewer, was a pretty good read. And, of course, there's Caretaker, who bravely opens up the world of Tommy for us.
Damn, not sure how I forgot about him as well. Was a frequent poster for a few years.

BJ was absolutely the guy that I was most mad about transferring out...prior to last week. You could see the skill set there and the age thing was definitely a huge deal in terms of physical and mental maturation. Blew a RS on like 50 meaningless minutes.

Barring injuries, do we expect Josh to even play this year? I only expect some dip his toe in the water action in 4 games to preserve the redshirt year.

Off this tangent...Be kinda cool if Josh Hough turned out to be baby Derrick Henry (like I think he is) and becomes our marquee player for the next 3-4 years. That would be neato
Big Jim Nance II

My advice to any parent is to never visit this board. Your son is never as good or bad as the takes here.

the only two parents that I ever thought managed this well were Misters Lemon and Konrad...and Mr Konrad only had to deal with about 1/10th the number of posters and an even smaller fraction of idiots.

"Alright time to see what UpperEastOrange has to say about my son after this <insert gut-wrenching 90s loss>"

Haha. Like yesterday...

What if Devito has a Zach Wilson type season? *throws orange colored shades on*

I hope someone has a Zach Wilson type season. Devito...Shrader...just give me a QB who can use the whole field, and not just throw flat passes or deep sidelines

Alright ladies and gents, been a hell of a ride on the bball side.

How's the oline depth looking? Would be real neat to have some first downs this season.

It’s like rubber necking past a car crash. You just can’t help look..
Completely this. It's tough, that's for sure. I wouldn't enjoy it.
