Huge what if..

Barring injuries, do we expect Josh to even play this year? I only expect some dip his toe in the water action in 4 games to preserve the redshirt year.
I'm hoping for a 4 game RS, as well. Josh didn't earn Mr. PA football because his Dad posted on this board. He earned it by his OWN personal efforts, the same as his Scholly. His father is supposed to be excited, and proud of him. (so is Mom) That's every parents JOB, and we all take great enjoyment in ALL of our children's success. ;-)

Any parent that is trying to live vicariously through their child's accomplishments should NEVER post on social media.(that's a you issue) It's your CHILD's accomplishment. Not yours. Even if you are their biggest fan(you should be, keep that private). His Dad could wind up a responsible poster. Bam did a fantastic job posting, separating the two, publicly. I know of a few player parents that posted regularly on here, because they were rooting for their son's team. You still don't know who they are, because they did what responsible parents do. Put their children first, and rooted no differently than you. It's impossible to help them, and pointless. Only their effort and execution can.

With Howard and Tucker in the backfield? They are both power backs, that read a ZBS scheme VERY well. Adams is all purpose. It's no slight to Josh, that an extra year will improve his game, as Howard exhausts his eligibility, and the line improves. Should the staff remain? Schmidt appears to be making strides in Oline development, just a few practices in. (Thank GOD) Time will tell, but from what I hear? The approach is certainly different. A full tool box, to no longer telegraph technique. I'm an Addazio line admirer(he managed best in the ACC). 3.4 yards and a cloud of dust is what I understand. Schmidt can do that. (we haven't seen it under Babers) Also adept at teaching (harder to beat) pass pro in the spread/veer. While y'all may want focus on skill players, parents, etc.? The entire offensive season rests here. Our saturday's enjoyment are going to revolve around Schmidt's development. Not Devito, not Schrader. Me? I'm bullish on Schmidt. He learned it in the trenches of the FBS, fighting himself. Not from what someone else told him. The season lies here.. And I don't feel bad about it... ;-)

This is spot on. It’s OL more than QB that will determine how things go. And no matter what if QB1 goes down we will have a chance at winning more games.

Hard disagree on that one. The guy left a legacy of people still questioning the competency of the team doctor when the team doctor's recommendation turned out to be the correct one.
It’s tough in the moment. He was obviously fighting for his kid and made some good points. I have learned that I need to be better at filtering parents comments through that lens.

Yeah. I would think just with the responsibilities for making calls at the LOS and getting use to our pace that he would benefit from a RS year. As good as Tucker looked, that was plan for him before opt outs/injuries.

Your second paragraph says it all...it's been the problem with a certain unnamed parent from NJ since his kid was in HS.

The booty smooching when a parent or relative posts on the board is one of my favorite things to witness here.
I hate when parents post here, because I know it’s a bad idea in the long run. But I love their enthusiasm and desire for success and a great career for their kid. I want event kid who comes to SU, and every parent, to love their experience.

I mean he kind of did, people on here were voting hundreds of times a day...

Yeah I was kind of thinking the same thing. I'm not saying he isn't deserving, but c'mon...his dad posting here likely got him a thousand or more votes. We could litterally vote as much as we wanted.

That didn't happen with 4 star Penn State Mehki Flowers, or Pitt's Stephon Hall? (PA small division). I dont think its a stretch to think folks in their circle were doing the same.

Either way, Josh made his own "luck" by earning the right for consideration, as the best player in his Division. (4 2021s, 2 2022s nominees) Thats all Josh.

I doubt they did it like we did it. We may not be known for winning, but our social media presence is second to none.
I don't remember the exact details, but I recall a few years back when there was a contest for something like most historic ACC basketball school, or football school or something like that, and voting was all on twitter or a similar social media platform, Cuse fans showed up en masse to ensure we won, and trolled the ACC, and we won in a landslide.
