Hunt better comp %, yards/att, ints, qb rating, and yards/game than long

Arm strength is, imo, the biggest physical issue with Long. He's a college QB and even at 6'0 he can still be effective. He can work on his speed numbers. He can bulk up a bit.

He needs more experience, that goes without saying. What I want to see going into next season is the exact opposite of what happened with Hunt this season - improvement. If AJ flatlines or regresses, then I'm on board with him not being the answer. But he's a true frosh who has a swiss cheese line right now, he's going to make mistakes just because he's a frosh and that gets compounded when he's running for his life every other play.

I don't think Long starting next year is a foregone conclusion. I'm fine with it if they think he has more upside.

Long is better at throwing for TD. Hunt runs for more TDs. Whatever

Long's offense 2-10 in red zone. Hunt's was 7 for 15 (ignoring Nova)

I know you addressed it above - but it sucks that we won't get AJ with the starting offensive line. Would be interesting to see what kind of bump he gets without an injured line. Ashton and Estime are probably overrated at this point - but would love to see the h-back position at full strength too.

Side note: I wonder what happens to the h-back guys in Lester's offense? Is Estime a "scat back" or a WR? Where does Ashton line up? Does he just slide back out to take West's spot?

Agreed about Estime. He's the forgotten man because he hasn't had a high level of production this year, and when he has played he's been injured. I think a lot of people forget how effective he became toward the end of last season once he figured things out [as a true frosh] and the game began to slow down for him. I'm not suggesting that he's Kevin Johnson or Quinton Spotwood, but he has the tools to be a difference maker that defenses need to account for at this level. Hope we can get him back for the stretch run.

You're not the lone holdout. Cuseregular has felt from day 1 he should be a QB and still feels that way.
