There has been nothing hardnosed about this team so far, in fact that game Saturday was the softest I have seen a team look since GROB. Marrone was hardnosed because he didn't have pool parties for all the kids at his house.

I wonder if we don't borrow from NW a little and have both play this week. If it works well?

Except NW has two guys with very distinct styles who perform well in their roles. How does what we have compare? Are the two guys distinctly different? Or are we just not getting enough production? And too many mistakes? I have no idea if Hunt is better. I only know what I have seen. But I think we need to see what Hunt can do too. So if that means splitting time this week, great. I just don't think we would do it cease we have two QBs. Right now we don't have one.

Didn't Shafer himself say it was about getting production from the QB position regardless of how? Whether it was 1 player, 2 players or whatever it took?

Seems like there is no production and time for a change or if bad production was the goal.

Not sure but a change is needed at the position.

HE SAID THAT Yes. He also said he and his team would be hardnosed, which I haven't seen yet either. HUNT is hardnosed. Allen is not

Disorganized? Yes. Lacking in execution? Yes. QB controversy? Yes. Way, way too many INT's? Yes.

But they came out and hit on D all game. Down by a huge margin, came out and won the 2nd half - even the B1G network guys remarked on how they didn't quit and played hard to the end. Just because the end result wasn't a W, doesn't mean there was a lack of effort or that they weren't hardnosed.

But they came out and hit on D all game. Down by a huge margin, came out and won the 2nd half - even the B1G network guys remarked on how they didn't quit and played hard to the end. Just because the end result wasn't a W, doesn't mean there was a lack of effort or that they weren't hardnosed.

Sure I can. Principled, hardnosed coaches do what they do. They live in their principles.

I have zero problem with Shafer putting on his D. That they came back and gave up a meaningless TD, only stands to prove his point Sunday and Monday: "Damn defense put those Offensive players in a bad spot all game" - he'll use this as a teaching tool, turning his fire on those players. They will play better.

But go ahead and tar and feather the coach after 2 games with a new OC, DC, QB, and 1/2 a line on O and D.

To each his own, I guess. I bet he's in good company with all of the best coaches of all time. Stats and percentages point in your direction - and if it were me, I'd go for it more... But I can't hate on sticking to that principle. I get it.

Everyone who thinks we should bail on Allen already must also think that the HC an OC dont have a clue either. Everyone forget how bad Nassib looked the end of his junior year. The next two games will tell who the starting QB will be.
