I do not know what happened about mid way through the second half but all the sudden we started throwing the ball down field. I would be interested in knowing what exactly happened. Did someone else start calling plays? Did McDonald say screw it? Some of those things and more need to be answered. IMO I think the staff thinks Hunt can't make those throws and that is why we never throw the ball down field but today Hunt showed he could make those throws. Interested to see what we do on Friday.

Also for Hunt the passer and Hunt the QB that injury may have forced him to stay in the pocket more than normal and look at other reads throw to Lewis on the cross comes to mind.

But overall I thought Hunt should me something in the second half that I haven't seen from him since he has been the starting QB. I am looking forward to the offense building on that going forward on Friday..

Hunt needs to learn to be a passer, but with our current offense Hunt's running is a main part of it because we can't get our receivers the ball down field. Today Hunt wasn't as effective because ND's D planned for it and executed well against our run. Hunt's running, IMO, would be most effective if used like play action by drawing the LB and safeties out towards the receivers.

Need to improve on the perimeter for sure, gotta have receivers that can separate (sounds like a broken record, doesn't it?)

ND bet that shutting down Hunt's run game and forcing him to beat them with his arm would be a winning ticket - they did and it was. Yards between the 20's when you can't kick FGs are not worth spit.

Coaches are afraid of teams playing desperate but I wish they weren't.

There are worse things than to do everything possible to win on every play.

I saw something tonight that I haven't seen much, if at all this season: Hunt used the pump-fake (more than once!) He was definitely better passing tonight, but there is still a long way to go. we need the offense to score points.

We opened the game with a nice throw downfield and then dont even try it again until the second half.Why?
