Agree. These small changes would make this new look a lot better and, in my opinion, take away a lot of the complaints. Replace those blue areas with orange and I think it's a much better look overall.

Yeah - there is a thread of truth to my post. I am sick of it and I do wish it would just go away. Hopefully orange uni's help... But I have a feeling people are just waiting to kill them too.

Agreed. Replace those blue areas with orange, and that is a uniform I'd BUY. I acknowledge that I am a biased SU homer who has a lot of Orange paraphenalia in the wardrobe, but I honestly believe those modified unis emphasizing orange instead of blue would be sweet. Wouldn't have a problem with us sporting those long term [instead of as a one-off], either.

I give up. We should go with what the old fans want. It's clearly not worth the endless discussion and complaining. They can't tell who's who on the field and are suffering from an emotional detachment as a result. We need to do it for them. Let's rock a look from the 80's to make them feel better and know who to root for. I'd gladly see us trot our the McNabb era uni's with 2 star recruits over reading one more uni post. (Nevermind proof that it helps with recruiting)...

And lets play in a half filled dome and subpar competition too. That should reel in the big 2.5 star guys. Also let's ditch the efforts at a modern offensive game plan and go with three yards and a cloud of dust! Why try!? I mean if things don't stay the same, they change!

look at it this way, even the hoop-only freaks are worried that the hoop uni's will be as dumbass and ugly as the football teams.

Solid proof you've got there. Those recruits said the #1 party ranking was as much of a factor as uniforms, MetLife...didn't hurt things, but none were major factors. You aren't having a discussion- you're making generalizations that everyone who dislikes the Syracuse Blue-Grey is 50+ and out of touch. Now you're going to roll your eyes and say that your way is the only way to get better players.

Most people are saying new uniforms are fine, but why mess with the traditional color scheme. We've changed the hoops unis and other than the mis-matched ones, people get over them quickly. Some like the Mel0-era, some like the cursive Syracuse, and others like the new look. Even when people are mad about the blue or platinum, they know it's a one-time thing.

My biggest complaint is that the AD did this for branding and they have completely failed in that regard. Why is the only jersey available for purchase by the public, the blue one?Why is the only thing left unchanged the Block S, I mean if you are going to overhaul, then make the 44 axes the new helmet logo and at least have something cool and unique. The 80's had the navy facemask...other than that I wouldn't change a thing...okay, maybe one thing, still incorporate that military 44 symbol on the jersey, that's cool imo.

I've come around to the opinion that it's loser programs who think that uniforms are an important key to recruiting.

Winner programs worry about facilities, winning, and playing fast and loose with the rules.

There is another alternative. Update the uniforms, keep some recognizable Cuse elements, and DO A GOOD JOB OF IT. As SWC stated, those were Nike unis not Cuse unis.

Good post. If our nickname wasn't the Orange I wouldn't care we wear blue,grey just wear more orange.

I'd be fine with change if it was done to generate more $ to upgrade the football program, but again SU isn't even selling the best versions of the new unis...although I fully expect to see a ton of Steiner auctions this Spring featuring them.

It we had the orange top/whatever color pants as the alternate combo then I think your combo would work. This issue isn't one where anyone is right. It is all in the eye of the beholder.

We agree we should have more orange in the primary uniforms.

Anyone that ever talks about cuse as being "down" only needs this photo. In hoops the only photo you need is Duany/celuck in the mismatch. We are nowhere near those lows.
