I’m encouraged that we played like a #4 team tonight.

Not sure how a fan could have watched the last half decade, and then this and not feel like a lot of positives were demonstrated, and a ceiling was broken.

I’m not one to say we would have won IF Donnie had played or IF we had hit FTs. It would have been a different game, with possibly a better result. Maybe Donnie misses those threes that Betsey hit, for example….

Good game. We played #3 ‘even’ and had a chance to win. That’s overall/net positive.

I’m saying we were the better team on the floor tonight when the clock was running. that is an undeniable fact. Houston is a better team. We were better tonight.

I would rather have him than not, but I partly feel the same. He is prone to giving the opponent runs with bad shot selection. Miss his rebounding though.

I’ll get slaughtered for this, but we are more stagnant offensively as well. He’s a good player that can make FT’s unlike the other guys, but not sure he’s as tough as we need him to be.

It’s an okay sentiment but also BS. We’re fighting our way out of the basement right now. Moral victories have been hard to come by. I appreciate the sentiment but not sure what is meant by "done" with them. We haven't exactly made a habit of pushing good teams to their limit for the last x years. Avg margin of defeat has been 40pts in these games.

We were not the better team tonight. We had some kids make mistakes down the stretch both physical and mental and we couldn't make free throws. They had their seniors step up down the stretch who made some crazy plays, like the step back eyes closed prayer 3 ball that goes in. Whatever. We finally looked like we could play basketball. Haven't felt that way in a while. Maybe it's a one time only game for us but the next couple of weeks will tell.

I’ve seen a mix of responses to the loss. This is, in imo, the best, most athletic Syracuse team in roughly 10ish years(give or take). I think we’re all forgetting that Houston is the #3 team in the country, with an elite coach, elite defensive scheme, was in the national championship last year, and led by two very experienced seniors. AND, Cuse should have won, if not for free throws and some other unfortunate circumstances. I’m not saying cuse is back, but, man, if they win these next couple of games, who knows? If it looks, plays, and competes like a tournament team, then it very well might be a tournament team!
