Clearly no love lost from his wife. Sounds like she wants him gone as much as Davis and she sounds way way to lackidaisical about it like this type of thing happens every day. Not to mention that she was sleeping with him at the time.

... then there's the whole, "where the %$#* was this tape for the last 8 years?" question.

I've never had something to be 'in denial' about before but i know it's real. Am I being unreasonable by thinking there's some serious bending of the truth? Or is this really still just too unbelievable and as opaque as ever?

Nothing on the tape proves that stuff happened before the age of consent. Calling him a "kid" can be anything from 1-25 years of age. If Bernie fooled around with Davis 18-28 then Bernie is not a pedofile. He would just be gay and there is nothing wrong with that. There is still a question if anything happened 15-18.

In addition if something did happened before 18, then Bernie's wife is just as sick. Why wouldn't she tell Davis to stay away then? Instead of 2002? Why would she allow him to stay at their house?

And if this tape is from 2002 then why did the PS, ESPN, and SU not act at the time? And why did he not go to the police with the tape?

I'm trying to stay grounded and not grab at straws like this ... but none of them are making it easy.

What stuck out to me though is that Davis has now retracted the accusations to nothing but "touching" and "grabbing" even while Mrs. Fine was asking blunt questions about what he did. That's all he kept repeating, "he -you know - touched and grabbed me" ... No! We don't know, that's the whole damn point! Quit the innuendos and try the truth for once. The amount of times Davis has said the phrase "you know" is pissing me off.

I think the whole Tomaselli thing is a red herring, he sounds like a really troubled kid out for attention.

Yep ... he made that tape with express intent of "proving" Bernie was molesting him did he not? If you go to that effort to prove something that grave you would think it would be the first piece of evidence you throw at someone ... I know I would ...

It sounded like a Sunday afternoon "back in the day" tea-time chat. It didn't sound anything like someone claiming to have been abused for over a decade talking to the wife of the person they are accusing. It's just another thing in the never ending line of head-scratchers.

I tend to think that people in general try to judge the truth of a situation by putting themself in the same situation and wondering if they would act the same way. I haven't seen a single instance from anyone (except maybe Roach?) where I said, "yeah, that's probably how I would react." That, above all, is what is making all of this too hard to believe.
