I’ve heard all the BS excuses why they had to hire Red. If they are true the leadership at the school is weak which is worse than incompetent in my mind.

Leadership of a school doesn't piss off too many heavy hitters around a university. Sometimes you have to let them have their mistake play out so they see with their own eyes they were wrong. If you don't do that you'll lose their needed support and never get it back.

How do you find a replacement midseason? Any good coach is not abandoning their team midseason. As has already been discussed, JW keeps a list of candidates. It won't take long for him to reach out to guys when coaching carousel season begins. Maybe he'll be reaching out to agents before then so the works are greased.

It would have to be a candidate that is not currently coaching because I doubt that any current coach would do a “Kiffin” and leave the team he is coaching mid season for another job.

While there is value in replacing a lame duck coach, i seriously doubt that Syracuse would do that unless there was already a qualified coach on staff. There isn’t, so we will ride with Autry the rest of the season and hope that the team beats the prime teams in the league. Something has to wake up this team.
