I don’t message often

How do you find a replacement midseason? Any good coach is not abandoning their team midseason. As has already been discussed, JW keeps a list of candidates. It won't take long for him to reach out to guys when coaching carousel season begins. Maybe he'll be reaching out to agents before then so the works are greased.
It would have to be a candidate that is not currently coaching because I doubt that any current coach would do a “Kiffin” and leave the team he is coaching mid season for another job.

While there is value in replacing a lame duck coach, i seriously doubt that Syracuse would do that unless there was already a qualified coach on staff. There isn’t, so we will ride with Autry the rest of the season and hope that the team beats the prime teams in the league. Something has to wake up this team.

That's what makes it a great post

a classic case of dichotomy of deliberation.

It's so disappointing. The Houston game showed so much potential, and that was without our most talented player. It's been mostly downhill since then.

I don't know that firing Red right now accomplishes much, but I would respect him if he resigned. A simple press conference where he said something along the lines of, "I love this school. I wanted to bring us back to where we were when JB recruited me. I truly believed I was the guy to get us there, but I have not been able to get it done, and I understand the fans' frustration. With that said, I announce my resignation. I have full confidence JW will get this back on track, and will always be grateful to be a part of the Orange family. Thank you."
While this would be the best outcome and would likely save his image with the fanbase, most people are incapable of admitting that they’re the problem. So highly doubt this would ever happen. I’d imagine Red thinks its anything and everything but his coaching that’s to blame.

That is a good question about the value of replacing Red now. If a replacement was in place now, he (whoever he is) could start to build relationships with the current players to determine who would stay and play next year. I have a feeling whoever coaches next year will come with a strong recommendation from Carmelo (that is if Kiyan decides to stay next year).

I will be sorry to see the Alex Kline, general manager leave because he definitely did his homework in identifying players for the team this year.
I would fire him now. Maybe new guy could get some fire under their asses and win a few games. We are talent3d but dumb in key situations and terrible on offensive plays. Need something to happen fast.

What new guy?
