I don't think the offense's problem is lack of playmakers

Jesus, it was 45 yds down field with two guys on him and your complaining about what shoulder he threw it to?

if you watched the play from the endzone you would see the throw was so far off line it took him into the safety. that was the result of a poor throw had he thrown it to the outside the safety never gets near the ball. i think a throw should be less than 10 yds off line. that is the same issue we had with the first throw of the game. he never led the WR to the middle of the field making it a much easier throw. no safety throw it slightly short and leading across the field. with a safety lead it away. he threw both balls right on a line making them much harder to complete.

Agree and our big play totals reflect that. Playmakers aren't the reason we are below average we have enough of them for that. Who is even thinking top 25 right now?

i'm using the top 25 as an example because they obviously have the players that we do not. i don't see how you can say we have enough playmakers? they aren't the only reason we are below average. i think it's a close fight between lack of playmakers and someone who can put the guys we do have in position to be successful.

just curious who on our team would you label a playmaker?

This is SU's ranking in plays greater than 10 yards, 20, 30 etc the last 4 years. We're not bad at getting big plays. Our problem is medium plays. This is just another way of saying what we already know, the passing game stinks.

I should've divided each bucket by number of games played because some teams have played 6, very few have played fewer. it's conservative, we might actually be doing better this year. if i do it by game, we're 70th in 10+, 38th in 20th+

ordinary 10-20 yard passes are a failure. that's scheme and coaching, not playmakers

here's the defensive stats. the defense is fine. they've given up 2 60 yard plays. one was the idiotic uncovered bubble. i'm blanking on the other. maybe that was because an explosive player

all the explosive players on other teams aren't having that many medium to big plays

broyld is probably our best playmaker currently,Estime could be but has been limited all year and Ishmael has shown flashes of being one. Gulley and Ervin Phillips would be listed under playmakers as well
