I don't wanna move the court to the 50 yard line - not even if it means 50K fans, tons of recruits up for a visit like no other, and a media crush not seen in Syracuse since, well, never. Though don't put this concept to bed just yet... I wanna bitch about it for several more months.
I don't wanna reconfigure some season tickets to allow students to sit closer to the court - ever. Sit those spoiled bastards up in the 300's for all I care. They're too loud anyway. Which leads me too...
I don't wanna stand during games. So do whatever you can to make sure everyone else sits - at all times. And if they don't sit, have those excited bastards thrown the hell outta the Dome!!!
I don't wanna play one home football game a year in MetLife or Yankee stadium - even if it is great for recruiting and the largest (and most likely wealthiest) subset of alumni who just might end up donating lots more money. And no, I don't care that that game down in MetLife and/or Yankee stadium will, most likely, end up with 10X more media exposure. Just stop it with all these crazy marketing ideas, okay?
I don't wanna schedule better non-conf basketball games*. I want cupcakes because I like when 19,000 people come to the Dome to watch Cornell on a Wednesday night... Even if all the other big time powers play each other out of conference in awesome nationally televised games throughout December. Screw that, I want more wins versus nobodies!
I don't wanna spend $150-200 on a football season ticket - even if it is one of the cheapest tickets in America.
I don't wanna stay 'til the end of the game - ANY game... Ever. Look, it's 8:45 on a Monday night. You do realize I've gotta be at work by 9AM tomorrow, don't you? That gives me a little more than 12 hours to get home, sleep and drive to work in the morning. Who do you think I am, Superman?
I don't want Daryl Gross coming in here and making all these big city changes to our small town program. Who the hell does this slickster think he is trying to make the program bigger than it ever was? Sure, he branded us as New York's team and helped position Syracuse perfectly so that when the ACC was looking to expand, 'Cuse was the call, but if you asked me, this guy sucks.
I don't want progress.
I am Syracuse fan... Hear me whine.
*I do recognize that SU has stepped it up for 2013-14. Hoping it continues.
