I agree, BUT he gains nothing from transferring and it would hurt his stock if anything. He can't redshirt to save a year and most teams/coaches would view it as selfish, plus it won't hurt him to continue to practice, watch film, and evolve as a QB. By all indications TD is a good teammate and when he likely transfers I'll root him on like the Miss St fans do for GS.

He is a very good backup and at some point need to play.
if he was hurt as a FR when he RS and they documented it they might give him that yr back. you never know.

But he wasn’t and we know he wasn’t?
He would have already had to try and file a case. Plus he got an extra year already with the Covid year.
If they did grant it, he would be in school for literally 7 years. At some point it’s time to move on with your life.
TD will stay on the team til the end of the season and then transfer to a non-P5 school

He could apply for a medical hardship waiver for one of the seasons he was hurt, and get another year of eligibility potentially. that wouldn’t change that as a frosh he just plain old redshirted. Still making this season a burned year no matter what
you dont need to file for anything until you want to..
he could get hurt this yr too.. he hasnt played 4 games yet

I think there is room for him on t his team. Especially as Shrader gets better. The Oline will have more confidence and TD could pop in and use his arm they way we all wanted him to be able to do so.
He showed his character and we know the kid can throw. I think there will be opportunity for him this fall.

No problem with him making the decision to leave at the end of the season, if he thinks its best. At least he didnt leave his team on the field of battle mid season. Huge difference.

Oh I agree I strongly encourage him to leave at the end of the season actually.
I think it’s best for him, Syracuse and everyone around him and in between.
Sometimes you just need a change of team and culture….look at Matt Stafford going to the Rams and he’s like a new Qb

Part of the reason I wanted Schrader over Tommy is that I did not think Tommy had the best rapport with his receivers. Today maybe that picture is a bit clearer. Maybe he was less than 50% of the problem. Nothing that really surprises me. I think there is a real lane for Tommy going forward. First of all injuries have ko'd us before, and we need him as a really good back up option. Secondly, maybe he earns the starting position again.

I will say he’s visibly a good teammate on the sidelines and always in Garrett’s ear (looks encouraging).
its not bad to give props to a player for remaining composed under the circumstances. Tommy came in with greater expectations than 99% of cuse players. I tip my cap that he’s mature and Dajuan Coleman like cheering on the sideline
Don't be surprised if he has a gunslinger type game again this year. The line is getting better, and there may be an end of game situation where we need a guick score, or Garrett is shaken up.
