I have some concern the 3 guard lineup is fool's gold

There are real problems with it, however, we need to win games by 1-5 points versus losing by that many bc the D is going to be terrible no matter what.

Love Benny, but JB has made his bed in regards to him, like you said.

Sy, Joe, Buddy, I guess Jimmy, Jesse. Cole as sixth. Frank and Benny whenever JB is willing to reluctantly give them time.

We need to get out to leads quickly and then hold on and execute at the end of games. Tread water in the middle.

I just hope Benny sticks around. We all better pray that Jesse does (no inside stuff, but he’s the lynchpin for us on the only good parts of our D we have).

But if Joe is going to be a fixture...(and he will)...there's one counter argument to every reason not to go with 3 guards:

Oh for sure. I really like Joe at the 2 on O. Hes a completely different player. My issue with Joe isnt JoeIfault. He is a 2 that can play the 1 he should be coming off the bench and subbing for Symir and Buddy. I actually think that Symir should be playing the most as he is the only true point we have. If JB needs to get his youngest more minutes it should come as a result of buddy at the 3 not at the expense of a true pg

The only thing I disagree with is it doesn't appear to be gold; bronze maybe.

I actually like it as part of a larger rotation where we go with it for a few minutes to give a rest to one of the forwards or in case of foul trouble. Symir would also get time with Joe and Buddy rotating out at the 2, as well. I don't want anyone getting more than 30 minutes unless someone is absolutely scorching it, a la Buddy last March.

Instead of going more with 3 guards, why not try changing the rotations on the 2-3? Keep Jesse in the paint at all times, and the Fs inside the 3 point line and below the foul extended. This is not a perfect answer by any stretch. But, I don't think teams can shoot much better from the 3 than they already are. Find more minutes for Symir, get Buddy a little more rest and let Joe take those minutes at the 2.

I always laugh at myself for making these suggestions, as if JB has not already thought of that.

Buddy is slow footed but he’s much better in the rotations than Jimmy, even along the back line. Jimmy and Joe are frequently out of position and often get sucked into the lane when the ball goes to the middle instead of flaring out to shooters.
