Clemson is knocking OU around .. makes me wonder what the staff could do with OU's talent ... hell SU was in that Clemson game in death valley for most of the game.

Need to get rid of divisions, the other one, North Carolina-lost, Duke-Lost, Miami-Lost, Virginia Tech-Win against non P-5 school.

Oklahoma just doesn't want to be in this game. They didn't show up. Took the free trip to Florida. Enjoyed the free food. And is just going through the motions.

Agreed and doing exactly what they did to Alabama last year.

I hate this excuse. They showed up - they are at the game. They are just getting outclassed by a really good team. It makes it sound like "if they cared, they'd be winning."

That was the wvu fan excuse when we smashed them In the pinstripe. Clemson are a formidible team and might be playing in a much bigger bowl had Watson not gotten hurt.

Totally agree.

Watching this game makes me think how outclassed we are against Clemson from a program perspective over the past decade. From the coaching to the commitment to their program and everything in between.

It also has me wondering if their administration is worrying about whether or not their program is "revenue neutral" or who is paying for the scholarships.

My guess is that the only thing on their administration's mind is winning football games with the knowledge that everything else will fall into place if that happens. Seems to be working.

you can hate the excuse but its true. It's how you get these games where Boise beats and Oklahoma in the Fiesta. Or Utah beats Alabama in the Sugar bowl game. The big name school just doesn't want to be in that game. The kids go because they are forced. But its a game they don't want to play.

And if Oklahoma did care they would at least be putting up a fight and this game would be competitive. The Sooners just clearly dont' want to be there today playing this game

Big name school? Clemson is a bigger name than Oklahoma. Oklahoma just isn't as good and got shell shocked out of the gate by Clemson's speed and defense.

Clemson has never been and most likely will never be as big a name in football as Oklahoma.
I think you'll see that change. Clemson with Death Valley and the absurdly talented players they've been putting in the NFL lately coupled with what I imagine will be some big time years with Watson will make them a bigger name.

Either way, both are the next level below CFB elite so that "big name school" answer doesn't make any sense is an Oklahoma/Clemson game.

Both are most definitely much bigger names than Syracuse is right now for sure. We were at one point at least equal to Oklahoma and above Clemson on the hierarchy.

Probably won't happen again, sad.

We were once a Baron, then a Knight and now we are working diligently towards peasant status post haste.

Not unless the university starts to think like them and yea, that doesn't seem like it will happen anytime soon.

Classic couch sports psychology.

Boise out-coached and outplayed an Oklahoma team that attempted to win the game.

Yet somehow I don't think ACC will perceived to be as bad as the Big 12 when its all said and done. I think the Big12 is in for a very rude awakening this postseason.

Why wouldn't Oklahoma want to show up vs a higher ranked team with a better record? Perhaps Clemson is just better as the ranking and records suggest?

^^^ This ... hell at least OSU put up a fight against them last year ... OU is just looking flat out pathetic. I mean OU is 8-4 its not like they are a juggernaut.

A lot of talking heads had them winning the Big 12 and playing for the NC.

That's what i was hoping for, but I have a feeling it's going to be the same old FSU, Clemson, and then the rest. The ACC blew a couple good chances for wins with BC, and Duke. If they could have won those they would be in good shape. I think the only other win they have right now is NCST over UCF.

As far as Clemson how about the wins they've compiled the last 3 bowl games. LSU, Ohio St, and Oklahoma. That's amazing. Throw in other non-conference win vs Georgia last year, and South Carolina this year, and I think it's safe to say that Clemson is now a national player.

Also,I have a feeling FSU is going back to back. I really believe FSU and Clemson being good, is good for Syracuse. I know if I was a recruit I would love being sold on playing FSU and Clemson each year.

That Ga Tech game is huge for the conference. Somebody outside of FSU/Clemson has to win a big bowl game. Louisville has a nice chance against UGA as well.

FSU may beat Oregon but I don't think they would beat Bama. Getting by Oregon is a hard enough task, the Pac-12 has performed well thus far. Duke blew a golden opportunity but ASU was favored. I was hoping the B1G would get pasted ... much to my dismay it hasn't happened yet.

I actually think FSU and Oregon as the 2 best teams. I think the winner of that game will take it all.

I don't know ... I think Bama is starting to really get their swag back ... they just pushed a good Mizzou team all over the field. They usually just flat out overmatch teams on the LOS which is why they win so many games. Hell their tackle is 6'6" and 323 lbs as a frosh and is a human bulldozer ... it is unreal to witness.
