we are #2, and our coach just passed #3 dean smith for all time wins. try to take a step back and enjoy the ride. we might win a title, or we might get knocked out. don't cry either way. things are damn good, we have a great team to watch. get behind these kids and have fun with it. all i am saying is, boeheim has given us all if this, but it is a symbiotic relationship in that the fan base has helped him too. before we know it, we won't have the hall-of-famer on the sidelines anymore. for the love of all things orange, get to every game you can, root your ass off, enjoy these kids and this coach because nothing is forever.

Here here.

And for the record I voted no.

I couldn't have said it better myself. And I've tried!

I especially liked your point about the synergy between the team and us, the devoted fans. It is so hard to watch a game on television, because your cheers and curses fall on an empty universe (although some might say that's not so). But when you are at a game, the crowd wills the team to win. I believe it happens. Our traveling fan base and our Carrier Dome crowds are an integral part of every season, and at this moment, we are in the middle of a helluva season! As Monty Python might sing, "Every game is sacred, every game is good."

See, I tried again! I will stop.

Sorry, I voted "No" so it's 66.7 to 33.3% now with "No" losing...and winning.

No no no no no no

So, you are saying be happy that we are the first loser in the rankings? How about, we are #1 in the RPI which means we are inline for the #1 overall seed? Enjoy the ride and #Beatuconn

Post like these are great... Thanks for bringing a little perspective.

I respect your post, and I am totally on board with "enjoying the ride", but I am not on board with not being upset if we get knocked out early. If we get bounced early in this year's tournament, I am going to cry, and I'm going to cry like a little girl. Then I'm going to run around my house and punch walls like an out of control maniac.

I don't care about Boeheim's career wins, I care about SU going to the Final Four and hopefully winning a national title. The honeymoon period of 2003 ended like 5 years ago, it was a decade ago, it's a thing of the past. If we want to be considered an elite program, we have to get back to the promised land.

The frustrating thing about being bounced is that over the last 10-12 yrs we have not been KOed by a team better than us. Last team that did that was better than us was Kansas . There was a stretch in the mid-to-late 90's where the team that knocked us out uncannily won the Title, but my guess is we have gotten knocked out by an inferior team (albeit on a hot streak) 2 out of 3 times.

Oklahoma was better than us in 2009, but overall I agree with your point.

I hope someone is writing a book about this season . Our seasons always have their fair share of drama (the Wrights, Edelin, DeShawn, Devo, Louie) but it almost feels (like 2003 felt) like a magical script is being followed. Anyone keeping a journal could have "A Season on the Brink" on their hands.

We had a terrible draw that year with both Oklahoma and UNC as the 1 and 2 seeds respectively in our region.
