It confirmed what I thought. Hunt did not play nearly as bad as many here think.
Trust me-I am not related to Terrell Hunt in any way (If you saw me, that would definitely confirm it), but if you watch the tape again on espn3.com on the replay you will see what I am saying.

I know it is fashionable to always blame the QB, but he didn't have a chance. You think Alin Edouard is going be very successful converting 2nd and 28 b/c of multiple penalties on the OL? Don't get me wrong-he made a few bad plays, but he also made some very nice plays and looked much better throwing the ball than the previous game-I don't care what the stats say. Let us not forget this is his 3rd start and he's a Redshirt sophomore who isn't throwing to Mike Williams or Marvin Harrison.

I was a big Nassib defender when he had his struggles b/c I saw his potential and I feel Hunt has got some potential, but needs some time and a more disciplined team around him.

Everyone always likes the newest flavor when it comes to QB, but there's no reason to believe the Freshmen will be any better at this point. Next year, let the best man win, but right now, i believe Hunt has the combination of experience for the short term and potential for the long term.

Rant over.

Hunt cannot stretch the defense if we had receivers he would under throw them by 10 yards

I do not trust the judgment of anyone who would voluntarily watch that a second time

Kidding, sorta, not really
I hear you-I just ran through the offensive sequences in the 1st half to see if we had hope. I'm more worried about the coaching at this point. We were totally unprepared

I initially thought that too after hearing that arm strength was a weakness, but I don't think arm strength has been the issue at all.He actually has real good zip on the ball. Now his decision making has been another story.

Just from the espn.com play by play in the first quarter Hunt started the game 5-9 for 56 yards which is NOT bad by any stretch.

I’d like to look at the play calling and see if these players are being put into a position to succeed.

We ended up digging a hole so deep we were fkd.

Drive #2- The sack and Fumble was the play after Macky went out- looked like not the best snap- This was a drive killer and the next play was also without Macky- Guessing that's why they went conservative there

Drive #4- INC to Kobena was a bad bad drop- right on the hands with room to run

Everyone on the offense should be pissed at the first half performance...they all played like they forgot to get off the bus...

I still have hopes for Hunt. I watched the game on TV and felt that Hunt was rushing his passes. He didn't seem cool calm and collected. Appeared to have decent pass protection, but didn't seem to take the time to check out anyone but his primary receiver. Maybe I'm wrong...did you see any of that?

hunt isnt as good as his first 2 games nor as bad as his last 3-

i think they went into that game mental as a team- the 3-4 game plan might have made the players say What-
were pretty solid as is What are they changing to a 3-4 type of thing

For what it's worth, Ryan Nassib apparently thinks a lot of Terrel Hunt - thinks he can be a fine QB.

the first 3 drives were all on us.. 2 drives we stopped then the punt block, the crowd went crazy they scored we messed up again and the game was over.. we had a drive inside the 50 then had first down at the 22.. no stretch that we get at least one score out of that.. could have been 7-7 or 10-7 before the lights went out..

I think the bigger worry is Paul Johnson saying what they saw on film. And it being true. That if Hunt's first option is covered, he takes off.

I don't think he was doing that in his first two starts, but I think he's lost so much confidence at this point, that's his game right now. And that's not going to work out well for us.

I definitely think his confidence has taken a hit, but if anything, I think he hesitated on a couple of plays. Against WF, I am on record that if the OL doesn't commit multiple penalties and the staff sticks with a balanced game plan (even if we get down), Hunt has a come back game. Oh yeah, we also can't let blitzers come through unblocked every 3rd down passing play. He needs to regain some confidence, but he showed me some improvement in his throwing in the last game, though he did have a few bad ones.

I too think the offense lost focus after the first 3-4 drives and change out of what was working.. the punt block hurt and then we never really sustained anything, we lost the ST battle, the TO battle and the penalty battle on top of playing horrible D. we keep that up we are toast, but we havent done that really all year to that extreme.

play calling is causing some of this but drops and mistakes by the QB are not helping. and we cant have the oline penalties if we want to win.

I think that if what we saw in his first two starts is any indication,, I know the competition wasn't stellar, I have to believe that there's some talent there.

Those first two starts were probably as good as any college QB has had in their first two starts. A redshirt soph who had basically no in game experience. There's something there. Whether we ever see it again is anybody's guess.

This is exactly what I saw and why I have been defending his position as starter

5-9 56 yards isn't great just over 6 yards per attempt. Then you include a fumble and an INT and it isn't very good. Sorry but there is no sugar coating things that isn't good QB play. Again I am not looking for Allen to start. They both are awful. I just am not trying to pump up Hunt for his awful play. If he is the starting QB for 3 years then Shafer will be fired. He isn't a major D1 football player IMO.

No one said he was great in the game-he just wasn't nearly as bad as people thought he was.

The linebacker made an outstanding play to pick that ball off. He jumped to deflect it and made the catch on his back. It was a quick hitter to the TE and Nassib also wouldve missed that backer quickly read it and drop back. It's to bad they were in 2nd and 28 to begin with because of the screw ups by the offensive line.

The sack and fumble? Geezus the snap was 90mph and high, hunt juggled it and GT was in an all out blitz. The outside blitzer smashed hunt before he even had a chance. It wasn't his fault.

Blame Hunt all you want but the whole offense stinks. The line can't consistently run block, they were a bit overwhelmed in general, comitted critical penalties, and wr's dropped more balls.

I am not blaming anyone I just don't think there is much there talent wise to be a major D1 QB that is all.

i still have faith in hunt and believe this game just snowballed out of control. i defended him during the game and my opinion hasn't changed. however, the interception was a nice play but if you watch the play again, he had broyld open for a first down running a post.

There was also a number of throws down the field he missed for big gains.
