We all miss the BET. But not as much as the BE misses SU.
Yeah, I know Georgetown still sucks but I loved playing them.
If change is inevitable, why can't it be good?
Still think that shot for BC is going in even after all these years.

I hope you're talking about radio announcers, because the TV guys for the ACC are McDonough/Shulman/Bilas.Even the announcers are at a different level. Listening to the acc announcers is like a high school game on a pbs station and Greensboro is no NYC!

I'd rather have the "old" Big East back any day over what is out there now. Fun, but frustrating, rivalries. My son Tom and I cruised the streets around MSG for about an hour looking for tickets to the Georgetown game. Finally scored a couple a few minutes before tipoff. Expensive as hell but one of the best investments I ever made. My son was 13 at the time. He was born in Chicago but we lived in New Jersey most of his life. I followed Cuse when I could , but he was not a big fan, until that night. Georgetown was favored. What a game! Pearl was incredible. We were in it till the last 3 or so minutes. But Ewing was a monster, and took over the game late. We cheered ourselves hoarse. That night a Cuse fan was created and in spite of the loss, a Cuse dad was happy.
I was watching the NCST and Pitt game last night and could not believe how dead the arena was...
I'm over it.
I agree. I miss the BE of the 80's - SU, Gtown, StJohn, 'Nova, Seton, ... since then not so much.
Your longing for the Big East really depends on where you lived during that time. If you could hop on a train and head into the city rather easily or drive a few hours to see SU play a number of teams, you probably miss the BE quite a bit. But it's more than that. I miss it dearly.Cowtown said:I agree. I miss the BE of the 80's - SU, Gtown, StJohn, 'Nova, Seton, ... since then not so much.
