I wish JJ a lot of luck with his hamstring

I am a ‘fan’ of JJ. I like how he represents himself. He’s among the top guys it would please me to see playing well. He is/will be important, and I hope Red puts him into the appropriate situations to make him most effective.

Kiyan is good... but he will be physically overmatched against the non-cupcakes. Even against the teams so far he has gotten big-boyed at times. We know that won't happen with JJ... I would rather have Kiyan as a bench piece that can get whatever he wants against backups. But Red needs to have a quick hook for out of offense shots and crappy. defending.

I don’t think you can say that for sure. JJ was not good against good teams last year on either side of the ball. Whoever is playing the best needs to play that game. Kiyan has skills that JJ does not have.

I don't know about this... Anthony is bigger than he seems at times. And it is obvious that he has had NBA level coaching his whole life. He might not be athletic enough or big enough to play in the NBA, but he is showcasing NBA skill levels already in his first real game.

Pretty amazing to watch him. Playing pickup against his dad's friends might help him more than we think to withstand bigger stronger men playing against him.

I am quite impressed with Kiyan Anthony so far. So is Red... He put Anthony in for team leading minutes against Binghamton.

It will all depend on how he shoots. If he can be a consistent 40percent shooter he will be in the league

I don’t even think his shooting % will be the issue. It’s purely speed for me. He has everything else. Is that something he can somewhat improve? No doubt, he’ll be a great player for us, but if somehow he can get faster, sky is the limit.

I see Starling's role on this team as similar to Scoop Jardine's role on the 2011 and 2012 teams.

He's by no means the most talented player, and we don't want him playing 38 minutes or taking a ton of shots, but his presence is important to our overall success and I want him as part of the rotation. And he's very likely going to be the player with the ball in his hands at the end of games.

Good comparison regarding the role. I think Scoop’s defense and passing were better though. JJ drives better and Scoop shot better.

I think the JJ bashing is a little over the top. I don't want him playing 35 minutes and having the ball in his hand the entire time but we will need his scoring. Hopefully he is back soon.
He is this year's JGIII. Remember when so many were happy that Joe was leaving and JJ was coming to SU?

I think George needs to be the player with the ball in crunch time. He’s the best decision maker we have.

I'm still getting a feel for his game but that certainly may end up being true.

💯 Agree, crunch time is PG time.

Which is one of the largest reasons why we have significantly underperformed in recent history.
