Once again, how can these kids go to the NFL if they aren't playing in college? It's a closed system. If they want to get paid in the NFL they HAVE to go to college. They deserve to profit when the schools are profiting off of them.

It's professional for everyone involved but only amateur when it comes time for players to get a piece of the pie.

401k and IRA needs to be funded with earned income.

Scholarships and stipends aren’t counted as that.

Now - if players get paid, that’s earned income, and they could at least do IRA’s.

Or if that then makes them employees of the University, then a 401k or 403b would be a viable option

Typically need to be 21 to contribute to a retirement plan like a 401(k) or 403(b). Depends on the plan document, but 21 is usually the minimum age.
