If Dungey is out, who do you get ready for LSU?

I truly believe that with Dungey we could be at the very least competitive with LSU. LSU beat a very overmatched Auburn team at home but were a missed field goal away from losing at a good but not great Mississippi St team last week. It's not like they're unbeatable

Mitch Kimble, Austin Wilson and AJ Long are a big fail in recruiting QBs for this staff.

Austin Wilson was a Marrone guy who stuck with his commitment after Marrone left. He was supposed to be the second QB in that class, with Zach Allen as the big fish QB. Kimble only came in late when we were scrambling to replace Allen.

Good catch.

I guess it reinforces my thought that Marrone and Shafer have stumbled in recruiting QBs.

AJ was a Mcit guy, I think.
 
If Dungey is 100%, you have to play him. Kids a competitor. You might lose him mentally if you keep him out. Also - whole offense would take that really poorly. To much white flag waving. However - if you are down big in the 2nd half, sit him.

Don't forget, the year Long was recruited, Edouard was supposed to be the big fish and he never qualified.

So effectively what you have is 2 guys who were the 2nd QB's in their class, and a JUCO Walk-on. And Wilson and Long were both recruited by different OC's.
 
Our top 3 qb's on the roster are varying degrees of injured. Hunts obviously done, and its not worth the risk after the hit Dungey took. If AJ Long is physically capable he is our best bet. He's seen top defenses before and he's actually shown capable of moving the ball. Without AJ we should go full option offense with Mahoney or Womack. Wilson can run as well but has shown no interest in doing so.
 
It would be interesting, had Womack stuck at QB, to see if he might have gotten in today.

This LSU game means nothing

For a really successful year for this program at this time they need to go 3-3 against a schedule tilted with 4 road and 2 home games

You want a gravy "statement" game upset get the core group of young guys heathy and experienced for Clemson

Feed Wilson and the walk-on to LSU. Spot rotate in the 2nd unit OL and see how they do

Why not just save time and money and tell LSU don't bother boarding the plane, we forfeit.

I'm assuming if Dungey is out that the staff will get Womack back to QB and practice him there this week. Have to have at least 3 QB's ready to go.
 
What is the matter with you guys. You play the game to win if not there is no point in playing it. If dungy can play he should. These kids came here to compete and if you sit them you're sending a really bad message and you'll lose the team.

This season isn't about the LSU game

All they have managed to do is beat the same teams a 3-9 team dominated last year on the road at home by much thinner margins

They have barely managed to match the performance of a really bad team in easier circumstances

Where this team shows improvement starts in three weeks. Get those ready for that

That makes sense from a fan's perspective. But he's right. You play to win. If it looks like you're waving the white flag all theses guys who are freshman and sophomores stop playing as hard because they lose respect for the staff.

Won't happen.

Now - if we're getting blown out at the half? Different story.

Exactly. You play him the first half. If we are down big then pull him. Yes they beat auburn yesterday but guess what they are still a 12th ranked team and it's a game where anything can happen. Jesus grob and his band of misfit toys beat a good Louisville team and notre dame on the road. I'm going into the dome Saturday saying we have a shot and so should everyone here
 
i'm in on mahony---all i would like to see is calmness, control command, and good decision making---with improvisation---wilson has his chance but i feel that there is a reason for mahony---. i feel that if they stay with wilson it will be the same ol same ol----not knocking him at all---we need to take the chance
