If Dungey is out, who do you get ready for LSU?

Mitch Kimble, Austin Wilson and AJ Long are a big fail in recruiting QBs for this staff.
isnt this new offense more what Kimble was supposed to be able to run?

This season isn't about the LSU game

All they have managed to do is beat the same teams a 3-9 team dominated last year on the road at home by much thinner margins

They have barely managed to match the performance of a really bad team in easier circumstances

Where this team shows improvement starts in three weeks. Get those ready for that

With a true freshman qb and a lot of young talent, and a lot less on defense. Dungey is best thing to happen to this program in 20 years...

TexanMark and I were discussing this yesterday. Dungey has a chance to do some very special things here. We've not seen somebody similar this century. I'm not going to name all the positives, but, they are plentiful.

Enjoy the ride Syracuse, because good days are ahead.

Everybody who was out this week should be out next

This LSU game means nothing

For a really successful year for this program at this time they need to go 3-3 against a schedule tilted with 4 road and 2 home games

You want a gravy "statement" game upset get the core group of young guys heathy and experienced for Clemson

Feed Wilson and the walk-on to LSU. Spot rotate in the 2nd unit OL and see how they do
Yes, LSU is far less important than finding three more wins.

AJ and Wilson were both actually recruited by the previous coaching staff.

Austin Wilson was a Marrone guy who stuck with his commitment after Marrone left. He was supposed to be the second QB in that class, with Zach Allen as the big fish QB. Kimble only came in late when we were scrambling to replace Allen.

AJ was recruited by Marrone also.

Seriously? A stumble is a momentary lapse of balance. We're talking a decade and a half and four coaching staffs worth of 2nd rate QB recruiting.

Good catch. I guess it reinforces my thought that Marrone and Shafer have stumbled in recruiting QBs.

if no dungey we probably do same thing we did 2nd half rotate em in with mahoney more option look and wilson more pro style.
Why not just call the other team up to tell them what play we will run?

If Eric is not 100% go with the rotation and let him sit. We have a 5% chance of beating LSU and a 95% chance of getting destroyed. No sense in losing him for the season
Unfortunately I'm of the opinion that even if Eric is fine, don't play him, the rest of the season is more important then the chance of beating LSU.

If, and I mean IF Eric is healthy, then play him. Sometimes you learn more from your mistakes/losses than you do from your successes/wins. It would be a great learning experience for Eric and all the young players on the team no matter the results.

This Staff? AJ is the only one for HCSS staff and he looked ok, especially for a frosh that regardless of talk was expected to get two years of S&C before playing.

I know that Marrone/Hackett offered him, but Long committed to Shafer/McDonald. They could have gone in a different direction if they wanted to.

I agree. My guess is that it was expedient to go with prospects that SU had already developed relationships.

I thought we take these games one at a time.

Womack

Wish we still had Doug. I would have love to have seen him just given the keys for a drive to see what he could do.

Oh, you mean Kenterius...

All in on Womack and Ga Tech offense. LSU won't know What is going on and maybe we catch them off guard. Wilson and Mahoney are not D-1 level QBs and if we're going in without Dungey, at least try to win.. We know that's not happening with those two.

As my wacked out CYO coach told our team when I was a soph in high school going up against a very good inner city team that completely overmatched us-

"I don't care if we win 3-0. Hold the ball as long as possible".

I kid you not, first possession we dribbled the ball at the top of the key for close to a minute (no shot clock) with the score 0-0. Most awkward start to a game of my life. And no, we didn't win. But luckily no one got dunked on, if I remember correctly.

Last time one of our sides of the ball tried a radical shift away from our system to something completely new in an effort to win a single game, we lost by a thousand at Georgia Tech. You can't just implement a whole new offensive system, especially one as radically different as Georgia Tech's. It would be an abject disaster.
