would anybody start him over Dungey next week? I ask because so many were adamant before the beginning of the season that he gave the team the best chance to get to a bowl. That was a reasonable position since none of us knew what to expect from Dungey. I am wondering if Dungey's 2 1/2 games against bad to mediocre competition has been enough to change minds.

I dont think they make Dungey #2 if the leash was not already short. Dungey would have gotten more reps as the scoot team qb than as a #2

See, this is why I have a hard time abandoning Long, believing Mahoney is awesome, or being 100% convinced that Dungey is going to handle everything. We change our opinion on this stuff so fast. Good post.

Silly. We could have you at qb and we wouldn't have lost to R.I..
I would have ran for 200 yards and thrown for 250, and i'm built like Steven Clark.

We never would have had the THOUGHT of starting anyone over Hunt if he was healthy... thats the problem with this post. Hunt could have crapped the bed all season long and he would have kept playing unless Dungey blew everyone away in practice everyday.

SS changed from Allen to Hunt. He fired his OC. He would have made the change if it was necessary

I suppose yea. Could you imagine if McDonald was still on The Hill screwing everything up for us? Oy vey.

If Hunt never got hurt, we wouldn't know everything we all think we have in Dungey.

All we'd know is that he was a better option than Wilson and Long. And I still wouldn't know that Mahoney was even on the team.

As Kaiser said, we're probably 3-1 anyway, but not quite as excited about where we could end up.

Does HCSS even let Hunt get another year on the team if hes granted a medical redshirt? Would he want him back?

If Hunt was Healthy we would be 4-0. I think Hunt destroys the first three teams. Dungy gets solid run and we beat LSU with both of those guys healthy. As to next year if Hunt is approved to play why in Gods name wouldnt he be allowed to come back. He is the ing Captain of this team are you kidding me of course he comes back and he would also play a significant role.

A) Hunt was pretty bad in the URI game - there's reason to believe he was still very hesitant coming off his injury.

B) Central Michigan is a lot better than "bad to mediocre", and Dungey was doing a very nice job moving the ball against them.

C) Wake Forest may be dreadful, but their defense actually isn't all that bad. We'll know more about Indiana after this week vs. Ohio State, but they have scored a lot of points through their first 4 games.

D) Your post reeks of "I am not buying this hype".

Yes. And I was one of the people saying he gave us the best shot... But I was banking on trusting the staff (all we really have to go on is 2 scrimmages and their opinions). So I don't feel like if change my preseason opinion at all.

But in very happy that Dungey got his shot and appears to be really good.

who thinks Mahoney is awesome?

Long was terrible last year.

You could make the case Long was better than Hunt last year. Especially throwing the ball. But both got hurt.

Lots of people putting too much hope into Mahoney. He had a nice half vs a good team and is an easy kid to root for. But there is a lot of separation between him and Dungey.

Wow. Hunt can't really throw the ball. That's his problem. 3-1 I would buy 4-0, no way
