There's probably less parking near the stadium in that picture than there is now.

My grandmother lived in a house on Irving Ave. across from Archbold. I remember that the streets were lined with houses and don't recall many parking lots. Almost all parking was on street.

Yeah good call. Those lower lots now probably more than make up for that.

man I just remember going to games in that place as a kid thinking it was the greatest thing ever. Strangely enough still feel that way in retrospect for that time. Even the bad weather games were awesome for this wide eyed kid who just could imagine anything cooler. Some great memories in that place some of which was due to what you post having to walk up to the hill from where we parked looking up in awe at that arch as we entered to watch the Orangemen battle. Great pic man!
