No they have the number 3 ranked recruiting class so farWho cares? Miami sucks at football.
And apparently a nonstarter for others...People don’t realize how much talent the top schools bury on the depth charts. Portal is a bit of an equalizer for some.
If you haven't noticed, Miami has had top ranked classes for years. And, they still suck at football. No they have the number 3 ranked recruiting class so far
Yea but TCu is about 10 th in the pecking order after Texas , Alabama, A @ M , LS U and on and on . So there is some validity to the post .As soon as NY State has half the recruits that are just within the Dallas/Ft Worth metro I'm with ya
And yet TCU still has 9 four stars committed. There is not one four star in the state of NY this year.Yea but TCu is about 10 th in the pecking order after Texas , Alabama, A @ M , LS U and on and on . So there is some validity to the post .
Not so for many years , they found a way to break through !And yet TCU still has 9 four star committed. There is not one four star in the state of NY this year.
Man this season was nuts. I literally thought the same, I literally couldn’t believe that we were going to be a top 10 team that controlled its destiny to the CFP lol then Shrader hurt and our season kinda derailed. Wild, but like you said the fact I had a point of thinking that’s possible says something I guessNGL halftime at Clemson the thought crossed my mind… which in itself shows progress.
For now let’s work towards a bowl better than the pinstripe and get better every year.
I thought they were like top 20 but didn’t know they were up there all the time.If you haven't noticed, Miami has had top ranked classes for years. And, they still suck at football.
9 total across recruiting classes and transfers. Don’t we have 5 or 6 ourselves counting portal transfers? Not so for many years , they found a way to break through !
This is continuing to upgrade a $160m dollar all football facility they built 6 years ago. They will also be upgrading their stadium. The chancellor at TCU was telling a story.
Many years ago now, the previous coach Garry Patterson approached him with a request
"What do you need coach?"
"We really need an indoor practice facility, but it will cost about $7 million (then)"
So a little while later the chancellor was speaking at an alumni luncheon event, and he spoke about the football programs need for an indoor practice facility.
"Now it will take some time" he said "because $7 million in extra donations is a lot, but I know that you will do all you can to help"
After lunch, two alumni approached him and said "Chancellor we would like to help with the practice facility"
"Oh that is great" the Chancellor said "how much do you think you can contribute"
The two alumni looked at each other and finally said "Oh! Well, all of it."
Sammy Baugh practice facility done.
Just a TCU story, football in Texas.
And yet TCU still has 9 four stars committed. There is not one four star in the state of NY this year.
I played freshman football in Houston and the rest of my years in upstate NY. Totally different worlds. The amount of talent and football playing in Texas is in another stratosphere. A family friend just moved and they're in South Lake (or West, whichever). Kids are REQUIRED to play football (they do track if not). The talent and time dedicated to football is staggering. And the playing demographic and population density is about perfect, unlike NYS.
A couple of smarties here earlier this season refused the notion that TCU can be any good - the place is absolutely awash in cash.
I was surprised to see TCU was smaller than SU
We're at the bottom of the pecking order for NY D1 kids too but we also don't have 1000+ D1 football players in our state every year to choose from. Texas 3 stars > 3 stars from basically any other state too.Yea but TCu is about 10 th in the pecking order after Texas , Alabama, A @ M , LS U and on and on . So there is some validity to the post .
Not true by a long shot. Facility was designed and in construction when Ensley came up with a naming donation. He delayed the build to make sure his name was large enough on the facade (or so I heard).Kind of like when Ensley, and some others, funded the indoor facility at Syracuse.
Ensley was the largest donor but far from the first. Not true by a long shot. Facility was designed and in construction when Ensley came up with a naming donation. He delayed the build to make sure his name was large enough on the facade (or so I heard).
My only real disappointment is that if money like Ensley’s came in early, the design could have been more elaborate or better appointed.Ensley was the largest donor but far from the first.
Last line is an opinion. Just like when a kid commits early to SU he won’t get more then three stars unless he can part the Red Sea. If a kid commits early to a Factory he is guaranteed 4 or 5 . The tail wags the dog. We obviously have inherent disadvantages recruiting, which is why , even though I don’t like it , the portal could be good for us .We're at the bottom of the pecking order for NY D1 kids too but we also don't have 1000+ D1 football players in our state every year to choose from. I thought this thread was going to be about the 3-3-5 defense… it looked great against UM.
yeah if we gave up 45 there would be 10,000 post about needing more size at DTMichigan scored 45 points
