Let's say you are suddenly the Czar of the ACC. You can invite any team you want to join the conference, and you don't have to take anyone else's wishes into consideration... however, it must be a team which currently makes less money than the ACC, so G5 teams (I suppose we should allow Pac-12 teams also). WHICH TEAM WILL IT BE, AND WHY?

(I've heard other fan bases give their opinions, but I'm curious what Syracuse fans think about this).

Selfishly I would Another Midwest School closer to me, I think both Purdue and Northwestern (with the Chicago media market) would be great fits.

I think WVU still makes more money than ACC schools. That might have changed, depending on how the ACCN did this season though. I think it is very close.

G5?

Absolutely Cincy in a heartbeat.

I miss the gritt of our basketball games against them and they have a lot of potential in football.

Love the city if Cincinnati too.

Not sure FSU and Miami would like it, but my G5 choice would be South Florida. Decent athletics (which, I assume, is the main criteria here as opposed to academics, where they'd be second to last in the ACC - oh Hi, Louisville), and Tampa is a great roadie.

Not a big Raymond James guy, would love to see them eventually build their own stadium

Another Florida school adds no value to the ACC Network.

And I'm sure both FSU and the U will be thrilled to be competing against another in-state P5 school for recruits.

1. Cinci
2. WFVU
3. Temple
4. Directional Florida

999. UConn

My wife is an alum. They get an embarrassingly small level of support in the area. Would be pretty sad to see a Cuse/USF football game at Raymond James with 20,000 in the stands.

USF remains in the current ACC footprint. I wasn't considering $$$ plus/minus.

And I don't care what pisses off FSU and Miami. :p

If I had to choose between UCF and USF, I would take UCF. It is a big deal having a stadium on campus.

But I agree with OX, adding a Florida school doesn't help the bottom line for the conference and would possibly weaken FSU and UM.

Temple has the best market and would address a big hole in ACC coverage between Syracuse, Boston and Pittsburgh and the rest of the conference. But they have no on site campus. Until/unless that changes, I don't see this happening.

I think the prudent thing is to leave a slot open and see what happens. If we have a chance to take Texas and it makes sense, we should do it. If ND wants to join for football, we should do it. No need to add a member who doesn't clearly improve the bottom line like those two would. If ND wants to join for football, and WVU is available and it makes the most sense, add them as our 16th. In that case, I would still lean towards leaving that 16th slot for a bigger fish though.

Georgetown for hoop and lax. We play half the conference 2x in 14 years anyway for football (hopefully), not like we'll see them.

There is no acceptable option except UCONN. All of the other options either stink geographically, stink at sports (except probably Cinncy), or stink academically. I think Temple is probably next best because at least they get us onto some more television sets.

Regardless, $ drives all of this, and any school that is not Texas or a poach from the SEC or Big Ten does not make the conference more money, and is therefore a non-starter.

uconn isn't acceptable, under any circumstances.

Cincy’s superior to Uconn is every major sport
