If you could add one G5 team to the ACC...

Houston only makes sense if you bring in UT

UT/TAMU have a big part of the Houston Market
Plus it is a pro sports town.

You just described Rutgers and BC in two lines.

Give me one of the service academies, Army or Navy. They are 1a and 1b for me. Memphis next. Another Florida school just makes fishing those waters that much harder. Cincinnati no interest going there what so ever.
Agree. Not only are ND/Texas not G5, I don't see UT leaving the B12. And I don't think ND is going to give up its sweetheart deal with NBC or the cherry-picked TV matchups. The service academies have a lot of advantages - and they fit the OP! Both are G5 with their own stadiums. Both are excellent academic institutions with great histories, in fantastic areas to visit ... and both NYC and the DMV are recruiting areas for FB and BB.

They would never be competitive at that level of sports.

Give me one of the service academies. Does the U.S. Space Force have a football program yet?
a. Space Force (assuming it survives as a separate entity goes to the Air Force Academy like the Marines go to the naval Academy.

b. Back in the conference expansion/who would be #16 if ND joins full time days, someone proposed a hybrid membership that Navy would play football as #16 and Georgetown would play the other sports because Navy already struggles to be competitive in their non-rev Patriot League sports.

With that model I like Notre Dame and Navy for FB and Georgetown, Villanova and St Johns for BB. All the major TV markets on the eastern seaboard would be covered; a true Atlantic Coast Conference

I'd like, Cincy, too.

Terrible for us do you want to look up to them and Lville most years? Their advantages head to head vs us on the gridiron would be immense. Boring opponent too. Just as tough a game but no juice like WVU would bring.

Cinci is fine where they are. Ville should be rotting with them in the Ack and not comfortably in the spot we should have in the ACC.

Was fun to laugh at uconn when Ville got in but we’d be better off if they got the nod.

Syracuse would be much better off if Uconn was in the ACC compared to other OBE teams. Also, Uconn seems to be back on the rise for hoops. I hate Hurley but I see him bringing a championship there within the next five years.

what are the better odds?
  • UConn hoops championship within five years
  • Hurley replaced within five years
I think 99.9% pick the second option.

But back to the topic. Cincy in a runaway as the G5 entrant. And if we can poach, then WVU.

Boheim has us sinking slowly into being an average program and Hurley is bringing in top talent. Uconn has 3 potential NBA Players (Bouknight, RJ Cole and Jackson) and potentially a 4th if Akok Akok gets back to what he was. Hurley stole two of those guys Jackson and Akok from our grasp.

If you're such a "fan", you'd think you could spell Boeheim.

And if you think UConn wins a title in the next 5 years, I've got a bridge to sell you.

Given what's going on in the country - University of Phoenix.
Isn’t that where Larry Fitzgerald went? Good Football lineage.

Hurley has brought in some nice players, but so did Kevin Ollie, and UConn had consecutive losing seasons. Saying there are 4 potential NBA player on that roster right now is a serious stretch. Bouknight is probably the best prospect on that team. RJ Cole played at Howard and shot 40% from the field. Let's wait to see if he can score at that rate (23 ppg) in the Big East before declaring him a pro. If Akok "gets back" to where he was, he'll be a 6 ppg / 6 rpg guy. Andre Jackson has elite athleticism and will likely be a good college player, but he won't be playing against 5'11 guys in Albany anymore. He'll need to develop his jumper and handle significantly. He's an athletic freak, no doubt, but 6'6 guys who can jump become a dime a dozen very quickly in college.

USF remains in the current ACC footprint. I wasn't considering $$$ plus/minus.

And I don't care what pisses off FSU and Miami. :p
UCF>USF by a good margin. Nobody even in Tampa cares about USF whatsoever

He joined the board yesterday to respond to this thread. 3 posts. All extolling the virtues of UConn. Hmmmmm,
Connecticut schools remain on lockdown. Isn’t that right?

Someone in Storrs must have uncovered the family wi-fi details.

OCD in me really wants a contiguous ACC again. Cincy would connect the Southern ACC to Pennsylvania by way of Ohio...
1st and 2nd choices for this would be return of Maryland or add WVU, but...

Big gap in the Mid Atlantic--D.C and especially Philly.
