Speaking of recruiting, when is the last time we got a HS recruit? These losses definitely hurt recruiting. Recruits generally don't care by how much you lost (LSU loss excluded)-They care about wins and losses.

Do you mean the last commit we've gotten this year? It's not really fair at this point to go that route...our class is almost full, and the guys we're holding spots for all want to take their official visits before deciding. You can't really expect any commits until probably November or December at this point.

For what it's worth, from this week's ESPN ACC power rankings:

10. Syracuse Orange (3-4, 1-2 ACC): It’s pretty clear there’s progress being made, but for the second straight week, Syracuse saw a fourth-quarter lead disappear while its QB took some big hits.

Yes, but i'm saying it in the perspective of Shafer. Does he get a free pass if Dungey gets hurt again?

Depends on the fan. There are plenty on here that will give him a pass. Whether it's injuries, young team, bad breaks/close games, or Shafer being one of the main recruiters for 7 years but Marrone left him with no players to win with.

They care about more than that. They also care about playing time and many other things. Besides some of our best talent was in the last class after a3-9 season.

All the better reason to get a coach that knows how to utilize them. Everyone agrees that Shafer is a better recruiter than XO guy (which isn't saying much because recruiting is average in the ACC, at the very best) so why does this matter? We have the players, now get a coach.

I could care less if he doesn't get to coach "his kids." Not every manager gets to see their hires through.
Seriously, what does the average fan (including you) really know about x's and o's? If a play works its a great call if not the coach is stupid.

Give me a break.
