the worst loss and coming from the worse conference.Ohio St. had the worst loss amongst the three contenders for the last spot. That should have disqualified the Buckeyes, but I understand that with their money, influence, and TV ratings they were getting that spot no matter what.
it is. But OSU only played 1 power 5 team in nonconference, and lost by 2 touchdowns at home.baylors non conference schedule is a joke

Yeah that is coming just like the story about the $$$ UK boosters fork out for BBball recruits.I anxiously await the 30 for 30 about how much money was passed under the table to committee members and from whom.
I can tell you're not familiar with Delaney's influence. Do a little research on it and you'll see what I mean.
OSU-Navy was at a neutral site.Ohio State played @Navy, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Kent State.
Baylor played a tomato can, SMU, @Buffalo.
TCU played tomato can, @SMU, Minnesota
The Big. XII wasn't that good. Oklahoma and WVU had 5 losses, Texas and Oklahoma State had 6 losses and Kansas State the 3rd best team had 3 losses no different than teams in the ACC or B1G.
Ohio State played an extra game and get the honor of being beat down by an SEC team in New. Orleans.
It was a Navy home game controlled by Navy's TV partner CBS Sports. Navy decided to play the game in Baltimore. It was not a neutral site game.OSU-Navy was at a neutral site.
He was so influential that Swofford took ND away from him and almost has PSU until a financially strapped UMD went turncoat on the ACC and saved his arse.
No doubt Delaney has power, influence and intelligence, but he nearly lost out in the whole expansion deal. PSU was listening to the ACC. There is no doubt about that. It forced Delaney to act and collect a couple of mediocre football schools.
You clearly haven't done your research
then you haven't been paying attention to collegiate sports for the last two decades. Jim Delaney, the AD of OSU and the former long-time commissioner of the B1G, is by far the most powerful man in NCAA history. He was single-handedly the #1 reason why there was no college playoff until this year. Only after he signed off did the playoff become a reality.
Picking between Baylor, TCU and OSU is a tough call but I think OSU was in as long as they beat Wiscy last night because of the Delaney influence. They also travel better and would bring higher ratings. It's all about money and power and nobody epitomizes that better than Delaney and the NCAA.

I actually wouldn't have that much of a problem w/ it if it were "tie goes to $".
But it's not a tie, don't understand the tOSU argument unless the only criteria is "sos/style pts in most recent game".
Must be the same "goldfish memory" committee members that gave the '06 bball team their 5seed.
I'll bet that OSU had more fans in the stands, and it wasn't even close. It was a Navy home game controlled by Navy's TV partner CBS Sports. Navy decided to play the game in Baltimore. It was not a neutral site game.
The Big Ten Network says hello. By far the most lucrative tv set-up of any conference in the country. No collections needed for the B1G. It's very well known that there was no playoff for years cuz Delany didn't want one.
Delany, dude. HIM!
