If you're surprised that OSU is in...

And Ohio State played Virginia Tech... and lost.
and Baylor lost to WVU. Your point?

I actually think the committee got it right. What would have been the point of watching Alabama walk to a 45-14 win and on to the title game? At least now the team playing them has a fighting chance.

The Big XII made the decision to take what it thought was the easiset/best path to the BCS: 10 teams, no championship game and a ridiculous OOC schedule. They got what they deserve.

I don't think playing every team is the easiest path. If they wanted the easiest path they would have played 8 conference games.

WVU is about 3x the team Vtech is.

So the committee is saying the BiG was better than the Big 12 this year? That's a pretty big assumption to make based on what happened on the field. Big 12 schools should get rid of Bowlsby- what are they paying him for when they get left on the outside looking in?

What was the record between the two this year? I know TCU beat Minny and Iowa St. beat Iowa, any other examples?

Baylor lost on the road to WVU. Ohio St lose at home to Va Tech- a 6 win team. That is the worst loss of anyone in the top 10, never mind any of the potential playoff teams.

The good news in that is it says to schools- play tough games in Sept to help your SOS, and if you lose it won't kill your chances.

VaTech also suffered a significant amount of injuries after that game. At the end of the season they were playing without 3 of their starting OL and played the last 3-4 weeks with only their 3rd string RB. That's tough on a team that has a problem passing the ball.
