Gotta make the change next year. Lester hasn't earned itnzm136 said:Hold up. I was also really hard on HCSS about this until I thought about it. Who was he supposed to hire, given how HCDM left? HCDM left at the last minute and took everyone with him. All the good assistant coaches were taken. The only guys who would jump were friends. That's how we got last year's staff. That carried over into this year because we did well and won a bowl. Had he cleaned house, *nobody* would work for him. Think about it. If you were an assistant and you heard about a coach who fired his own friends after they guided his team to a bowl, would you want to work for him? I wouldn't. I would have zero confidence in my job security. That's how last year's staff carried over into this year. I think that we can judge him by how he acts this off season, and the performance of any assistant coaches brought on last off season (i think that there was one guy, but I can't remember who). I can't hold anything else against him. Now, with that said, there better be some big changes this off season, and that better lead to a noticeable improvement next year. We don't have to be "there," but I do want to see a clear foundation for us to build on. After that, I would hold every season forward against HCSS as there is no excuse beyond that point.
We had injuries so we need to stick with west michigan coast offense?
If coaches have to hire their friends, hire a coach with better friends
let me say it wasn't who he could hire but who he could hire with the money he had to spendHold up. I was also really hard on HCSS about this until I thought about it. That's true. We need to be more committed to football. I feel like HCSS is fighting with a hand tied behind his back. He may not be the right guy for the job, but I don't think that we can make that determination until we give him a chance to have quality assistants.let me say it wasn't who he could hire but who he could hire with the money he had to spend
Smu was one of two teams worse. June jones is getting up there.
