I'm bowing out for now

This puts things in proper perspective, about what's really important. It's not about games and teams but the community that supports them and gets together. You've got a ton of people with you and behind you Steve. Hang in there Steve and fight the good fight. You've got everybody on this board and listeners to your radio call-ins pulling for you. You are loved.

Kind wishes to you SWC. To share, when my father was ill with lung cancer and it got to a certain place, we invited Hospice in and they provided him with gentle and thoughtful care. Consider them perhaps if/when the time feels right.
A final thought. Think happily on some of the notes back to you in this thread. You contributed to this board in such a way as to have had a positive effect on those here in the community at Syracusefan. Being able to positively impact people...well that is a good thing. Nicely done.

Steve if you eventually get where you need hospice, try Francis House. It takes time to get in, but wonderful staff. They have a Facebook page you can go to for information. My cousin spent her last month there after fighting cancer for over a year.

You would think with all the money this country spends on healthcare cancer would be a non-issue at this point.

Steve, sorry to hear you are suffering. Have you tried applying for a transplant, "Find compassionate care you can trust at the region's most experienced transplant program. And, Penn Medicine is a national leader in living donor liver transplants so you get to transplant sooner, before you become sicker."

I'm getting weaker. (If anyone knows a good local agency to send in a helper, I'd appreciate it.) I have this large tumor in my liver. They think both lungs may be cancerous and no they are checking for bone cancer.

And the games and the coaches show are all the same.
Best wishes, I've enjoyed your posts for years...

Steve, we’re all thinking of you and pulling for you, the board legend. Stay strong - you can beat this! If I’m not mistaken, a lung cancer vaccine was developed and approved recently. Medicine is progressing by leaps and bounds. Wishing you the best in this fight! Prayers …

While we've never met, you've been a godsend to us orange groupies from afar. I've always repeatedly checked this site for your next post. What you've meant to our orange family is immeasurable. In 2020, I was diagnosed with cancer. I was so shaken to have that word apply to me. I was fortunate that mine was detected early and I have now beaten it. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you.

SWC … first, thank you for every contribution to this community you’ve made with every post, with every letter to your brother, with every call-in summary, with every Upside and even the Dowsides.

You don’t need to be a man of faith.

Just take a couple minutes and consider:

Praying for you. For comfort. For Peace. And giving thanks for all you’ve meant to all of us over the decades.

Sending my best wishes SWC. I've been reading your posts probably since back in the AOL days, when I was just a lurker, and I am almost positive you were part of the board back then. But I know it's been a couple decades.

This community would truly not be the same without your contributions. Your previews and upside/downside and coaches show recaps are just part of the syracusefan.com calendar and tradition. We've occasionally, not often, disagreed on various topics through the years. But I admired how every single post was well thought out.

I’m thinking of you! Keep your head up, and I hope you beat this!
