Yes, Milly, we're down to the core 8 guys now. That's still way deeper than '96, when we only played 6 guys.

And, if there's an injury, MCW has gotten 250 minutes of game time to this point, and Rak has gotten over 300, so if we have someone get injured (God Forbid, knock on wood), we have guys who have played a reasonable amount of time that they can give us some decent minutes.

What we need now is for Dion and James to start hitting some shots again. We get those 2 guys back on track, keep working on improving on the boards, and I think we are in the best possible shape we could be in.
96 wallace burgan hill reafsnyder cippola sims janulis

all had more minutes per game than Christmas will in the tournament

which is fine

christmas and carterwilliams have played 15 combined minutes in the last 4 games.

which is fine. but christmas's minutes are useless. fair doesn't need a breather at the start of the game before playing 37 minutes.

it's 7.5 now. like it always is. southerland being the .5 there's always a 3rd guard, there's always a backup center and the forwards always get leaned on heavy for big minutes.

(which is fine)

That's a line of BS. James misses 2 shots and he comes out. That's a double standard. Show me one game that MCW has screwed up so badly that he deserves DNP. To say that he's not ready is just a typical JB cop-out. It's even worse when he says he has 3 veteran guards ahead of him who are playing well -- on any given night usually only 1 of them merits that distinction and the other 2 can't hit the broad side of a barn.

JB plays 7. The talent and potential is irrelevant and always will be. Something about old dogs...
Very well said my friend. The talent doesn't matter. He likes to play 7 guys and this team won't win the NC that way. There's no star to carry us.

deep down i always had the sense that JB would revert back to his old ways and shrink the bench as the season progressed. unfortunately i also happen think the long bench team was better and would beat the short bench version in any video game simulation.we played fresher and with more intensity earlier. and it's got to be kinda demoraling to see the waves of players coming at you off the bench. i miss the orange line change!

Can you formulate your own opinion? Nothing kills dialogue more than "JB says so - so it must be true".

MCW is behind 3 guards - 2 of which are not bringing much to the table. MCW has shown flashes of ability that those 2 guards lack... and he might even be a hot hand on any given night if given more than 2 minutes. This doesn't mean MCW should be guaranteed 25 minutes - but he should be given an opportunity to get in the flow of the game.

James is pressing now because he knows he has to make something happen within 2 minutes or he will get pulled.

The other poster said it right - JB simply gets afraid in tight games.

Blue Curtain, if you think you've seen enough from MCW to say that you think he can outplay Triche and Dion at this point in the season, it's obvious why you haven 't been posting much this season - because you've been watching the games of the team you REALLY follow, and not SU's games. MCW does not offer anything that Dion and Triche can't do better at this point.

celek > rak

and wrights 1 year of starting blows his out of the water.

Oh Lord

I guess we just have a difference of opinion on whether someone who contributes nothing is having a better or worse year than Josh Wright.

I wasn't aware that you couldn't win a championship playing only 7 guys.

Anyway, there are 6 guys who, on a given night, could realistically be the star that carries us. Good luck trying to gameplan for that.

More gold.

I hate it when old dogs go 27-1. It REALLY pisses me off.

If I were you I would get my speech ready for "we only won the national title because of..." ready. Selection Sunday is rapidly approaching.

Ass.

Wrong. James has one reason to be on the court. When he's not shooting it you cannot say he deserves time ahead of the other forwards. MCW had one terrific game (he scored 13?) and followed that up with a real stinker. He has not come close to earning the time that the other guards deserve. Again, you're not finding many teams who can go 9 or 10 deep and be this good- just not enough time to go around. JB has given James a real shot and he's not done much. MCW less so. Rak has done nothing to show he deserves more than 3 minutes. They've selected themselves out.

Agreed. JS is in a tough spot. The only thing he really brings to the table is his ability to bring some instant offense, particularly from 3. But that's a lot of pressure to come off the bench and know you better drill it or you're back to the bench. But from a rebounding and defensive standpoint, he is the weakest amongst our front court players. MCW is a very nice player and in a pinch I think he can do a good job but we already have three guards and that rotation hardly appears seamless right now.

Mirror, mirror on the wall... And speaking of constant BS. You are up to your usual standards of "I hate all things JB".

Your insight is so far off as to be pitiable. Your analysis can't even see the barn... hell it ain't even on the farm.
