I'm in a show hole, need suggestions

Yellowstone is getting that HYPE now, lol.

I liked it, but stopped watching at some point either late in season 1, or in season 2. Maybe I’ll go back to it?

Seemed like they went out of their way to make something insane happen every episode. Like….did the guy really need to fall off a horse right where a metal stake goes through him? Cmon. I don’t need all that.
Welp, there’s another show I haven’t watched yet, nor plan to, ruined for me.

I had low expectations, and it still missed the mark.
It's tough to tie things up in a satisfying way when you have a huge ensemble cast and have taught your audience that characters can and will die at any time.

I agree. I feel like things could have been more suspenseful and exciting without doing much more with the storyline.

Like... honestly the finale survival rate was way too high.

I did enjoy two past characters popping up super late out of nowhere basically just to get eaten. I know it was supposed to be tragic but it was funny in a twisted way.

Think I made it somewhere into season 2 or 3 and then had to call it quits. It got so incredibly dumb, so quickly.

I'm sure at some point in the past 67 pages the show Dark on Netflix was discussed. I absolutely loved it despite it being in German. Netflix just put out 1899 which is by the same folks who made Dark. Really looking forward to it.

My wife and I watched the first two episodes of A League of Their Own on Amazon Prime. Not sure what to make of it. It definitely does not pay homage to the movie. The movie felt like it was capturing the US at that time. The show feels like a show that's made now, but about a time in the past, if that makes sense. We'll probably keep watching, but it's not what I expected.

I watched two or three and then couldn't find motivation to go further.

Yeah, might be our fate.

It's not a bad show. I'm not sure it's a good show.
Exactly that.

I am struggling with a number of shows in that respect. Lately. Not sure if it’s because of higher expectations due to there being so many quality shows, or if I’m just getting older and less patient. I’m giving up on a number of shows even after going through multiple seasons. Sometimes ‘permanently,‘ but sometimes I’ll go back after a month or so… and then give up again.…

You're right. There are so many good shows. It doesn't make sense to waste time on shows that aren't very good. Sometimes you have to let a new show grow on you but if it hasn't grabbed you after half a season, you might have to move on.

All Quiet on the Western Front — really well made, but spectacularly grim. Netflix.

I started watching it thinking it was a series…. I’m a half hour in, and realizing I’m going to have to take this in chunks.

Anyone watching Station Eleven (Max)?

Watched it last year. Pretty incredible show. Did you ever give Dark a shot on Netflix? I kind of forgot about it the past few years until their new one got released.

I did watch station eleven and it was a good watch. Not to be that guy, but the book was better.

Andor (Disney) is pretty good. Fantastic production and dialog. Less frivolous than the normal space cowboy and puppets Star Wars stuff. No corny jokes.

She-Hulk (Disney) is… cute. With some occasionally really funny bits.

Old stuff: I forgot how much I used to like New Girl (Netflix). And how much I used to love Hannah Simone.

I just watched My Old School on Hulu. Documentary about an unusual student at a school in Glasgow. I don't want to say any more about it. Watch it knowing as little as possible. It's fascinating.

Severance was probably my favorite thing so far this year. It certainly hits your 1st paragraph on the head.
Severance has such a fascinating premise. In this case, severance means the complete separation of your work life from your non-work life. The work life seemingly to the service of a secretive and evil corporation. It looks like many of the characters live in the same community, but are completely unaware of their other selves. My wife and I burned through the first two episodes tonight.

We're hooked. Acting is top-notch.
