Disappointed, yeah. But young team, first time on the road... there were reasons to believe we'd come out flat.

Our margin for error is still just so low. We can't keep playing only one competent half of football on offense. I think Dungey's rushing attempts need to come way down so we don't get the kid killed. We're not at our strongest defensively, and honestly that's fine if we're playing with more desperation on offense. Easing in to things is putting us behind. The fans are funny - lot of chest thumping after LSU about Adam and Lester. Game like today is why people still have some questions. That's ok, the talent is on the way up, but our coaches have some learning to do too.

The goal of making a bowl is still very much in reach, it just all comes down to that margin of error. A lot of people were saying 7-8 wins after LSU. Well, ok, we should be just fine then dropping this one. I just want them to play in a bowl and get those extra practices. Huge shame they couldn't keep the positive momentum going, but honestly, given our history the past how many years, it's not a huge surprise. We've struggled in these moments to take clear steps forward.

how is the goal of making a bowl still "very much in reach"? we just got blown out by the worst team remaining on our schedule. find me the three wins. BC? maybe. that's it.

UVA team is a mess, NCState is proving to be a paper giant and BC has no offense. Three wins and we have our bowl game.

Dungey looked like a good freshman QB starting his first road game.
Team came out flat. Lost their focus. Too much looking at press clippings of their near win against LSU.
We grabbed some momentum in the second half, then it slipped away when their stud RB dropped the hammer (and the defense helped by playing ram man trying to make big hits and not tackle).
We have to win 3 more. The good news is that we can beat and lose to every team on our schedule.
Young teams win and lose games they shouldn't.

I feel fairly confident that we can win versus Virginia, Pitt, NC State and BC. Not at all confident we can beat Clemson or Florida State. Not sure what to make of Louisville, but I'm not confident.

Again, to me it all comes down to margin for error. We don't have much. We do have some though.

Lol u don't watch college football at all do u, go back to watching the walking dead
alright, if we make a bowl you can call me stupid, but until then I say you are out of your mind.

Ha, right? It shouldn't come as a surprise though. I'm pretty consistent with this stuff.
I just don't see it, the defense is a mess and the offense is too young. I also agree that dungey has to run less, or not at all. preferably not at all. he is a good enough thrower that think he should only run as a last resort. I think we should scrap the option, mainly because I don't want the QB getting hit at all if possible. dungey is better when he gets to wing it.

I'm not sure the offense is too young. I think they start too slow. Assuming that can be corrected, I think we're in better shape than it feels right now.

I've been on a crappy business trip. Only got to listen to the 2nd half on the radio. Glad I missed the game. But I'm with Otto. There's a lot to look forward to. The kids stayed on vacation and weren't focussed. They'll likely play well against VA and win. It's the beauty of college football. Unlike the NFL, there actually are surprises - blowouts, upsets - emotional highs and lows.

This team is infinitely more interesting than last year's version. And hopefully, next year will be even better. I for one am psyched for next week.

Every team has this game, just our margin for error wasn't great.

Well said.

All the 8-4+ people were snorting hallucinating elements. Youth acts like youth does.

The goal is still the same -- get to bowl eligibility. Everything else is gravy.

The goal is still within reach.

True, but that assumes we bring it our "A" game. We shall see.

I still say the only two guaranteed losses left on the schedule are FSU and Clemson. Everything else is up for grabs. The ACC is such a mess, almost anyone can come away with a win against almost anyone else.

Agree.

2015 ACC is Any Given Saturday.

I am mad, not about the cuse game, kind of saw that coming, I can't believe the injustice in the Mets game.
