The D played well for three quarters. Seemingly tired in the fourth. Va had just over 100 yds at half and did not do much in the 3rd. We should have been up by 20 pts going into the 4th. We really lost the game on those first drives on a questionable holding and not scoring a TD at first and goal at the one. I like what Shafer is doing with all the underclassmen and it will pay dividends. A bunch of people have bailed on SS and they will be proven wrong.

That was huge. They were doing nothing on offense. If they don't score there, they may have folded it in.

The defense definitely did not hold up in the end. But yeah, this game was lost by the offense not capitalizing on their many opportunities in the first quarter.

-not converting a TD when at the <1yd line on 3rd
-play selection <2 yd of 4th and goal
-going for a 49 yd fg. on 4th and 1
-face mask penalty
-pass/fumble/pass/ fumble no call by refs
-conservative 2nd half O
-conservative 2nd half D
-gassed D in OT
-not going for 2 in OT when oobvious we couldn't stop UVA if they were 4th and 50.

Any one of the above corrected., we win UVA loses.

We were in the game and outperforming UVa for 3Q.

The Giants looked cooked after two series.

the D played well until UVa decided to attack us on the edges. that is how south florida murdered us too. we get crushed once the offensive player gets outside the tackles.

I also think the inability of our offense to sustain long drives in the 2nd half never gave the D time to recover. On top of that, defending the boundaries requires pursuit by the D, which is probably one of the first things to go when fatigued.
