Lets go ACC!

Cant wait to host Clemson in the Dome.

Would the ACC move to second after this tv deal is decided?

This should help with negotiations with ESPN and further support their own tv network

which is why some may see ACC as a serious threat and put ACC in a vulnerable position. ACC has many upsides in a long run. but in short term, it is in a bad position due to its bad football products in the past decade and long term contract with ESPN. college football is a big business now and will only get bigger in future. people who benefit the most will try to do everything to make sure they will get more.

SEC is going to move too once the SECN is launched.

Big 10 and SEC will be 1-2 eventually.

regardless the bevo is a rock solid 5.

if theres a bevo game not involving texas or oklahoma, nobody watches. the ACC picks up east coast eyeballs.

I don't disagree. Two anchors. One golden hoops program (Kansas), and then a whole bunch of other schools, mostly located in the middle of nowhere. One of those anchors will leave in a heartbeat if it's in their best interest. That league as a poacher of ACC schools never made any sense. Which, I assume, is why it hasn't happened outside of the minds of a few twitterers reporting live from their parents' basement.

I wouldn't put much stock into this Forbes Bleacher Report styled article. He is the same kid who wrote some Chicken Little Articles last Spring about the ACC.

One caveat. Much harder to get a gig with Forbes than it is for BR. Anyone can write for BR.

Donnie Manhattan was at the leading edge of Bleacher Report...anybody know what happened to him?

oh good lord.

he probably found the hours ridiculous.

'these banking guys, they get in the office at like 7:30???!!!'

:rolling:

Oh Lord

ACC should prosper.

Lots of eyeballs.

Population shift to south.

Pretty good football. Great BB.

If the members can hang in there conference should be okay, right?

The major conferences, and the schools comprising them, are just pawns in a mega dollar battle between huge media companies...primarily ESPN/ABC and Fox.
The ACC is going to be just fine. With ESPN owning a near 100% stake in the ACC, they have a vested interest in ensuring that the ACC survives and succeeds. It's a huge plus, not a detriment, to have ESPN the biggest single live sports media player as an ally and benefactor. Swofford gets that. The Big East never understood the game. When they walked away from ESPN they not only lost a powerful ally, they made it in ESPN's interest to destroy the league rather than have it go over to a competitor...and they have.

Given the title, I thought this thread was going to be about Jack and Diane...

You think the West Virginia board reads Forbes?

OK, then...

Reading would seriously take away from the time they can dedicate to making out with their cousins.
