Have they broken ground on the new IPF yet?

Nope.

The public announcement to build the IPF was done to drum up financial support. It was also the University's way to publicly commit to the project.

But to my knowledge, the project hasn't yet met the minimum "start funds" goal needed to break ground.

The public announcement was so hasty - was it even a news conference? It just seemed like they thought they had to answer the rumors that were flying around.

The project/fundraising hasn't officially kicked off yet, as far as I'm concerned. There was only a statement that it's going to happen. Show the people something tangible to get excited about.

I've spoken to Jason on several occasions. He understands my position. BTW, "I'm in"... I'll just be "More in" when we see the details.
