is it time that florida state can shut up

Sad part is most fans don't care about the nonsense. They just wanna see wins and championships. In the eyes of the FSU faithful it doesn't tarnish or change anything regarding their championship. Honestly it's like that at most if not every school

Winston was found not guilty, right? I don't recall if there were other off the veils matters besides Jameis. What am I forgetting?

These two were not on the championship team. Not saying FSU is not tarnished but seems unfair that the title team gets slack because of two players who did not participate in the game.

There are some at every school - there are also others who find it reprehensible. If you love CFB - hope that these kind of fans win. It's harmful to the sport.

As long as schools make millions off of football, and coaches make millions off of football, schools are going to have these issues. If FSU kicks Dalvin Cook out of school, he'll end up at another non-SEC Top 25 school.

A lot of people have forgotten that Oklahoma's Joe Mixon will play this Fall after he knocked out a woman, which was also captured on video and shown to Oklahoma officials. The difference is that the Mixon video never hit the media.

Most SU fans were ok with DC blowing up the side of another students face.....

Not sure both sides of that story were ever completely known. I don't condone violence, hate it. But I'm not going to put a victim tag on Hotaling either.

$40k for pain and suffering well after the fact, in addition to, what always seemed like sketchy circumstances.

Delone's charges were reduced but it's not like it got swept under the rug.

Any college student has seen 20 fights, we only here about the ones involving athletes.

This happens everywhere we shouldn't be anyone to judge. Only time I recall one of our athletes hitting a woman was DeShaun a Williams, but we have had our fair share of fights (both on court and off), fights with police, theft, and sexual assault accusations.

Yeah - but FSU has had way, way more than most. Combined with the allegations surrounding the police there? We can and should point out how bad it is there. Reminds me of Penn St - anything for football!

Devendorf was given another chance after slapping that female student. Like you've said, it's an issue everywhere.

Did I miss the trial?

Winston never went to trial. He was not charged because there was not enough evidence to show that a crime occurred.

This news broke yesterday. VT tailback Shai McKenkie was just convicted of having sexual relations with a 15 year old. 15 days in jail, 50 hours community service, but he is expected to be on the team and playing football this fall. But a teammate he was with was booted out of school because the girl was 14.

It was a while ago, but I thought he was cleared of that, there were witnesses that said he never laid a hand on her.

Isn't one rape? That is an entirely different zip code.

I don't follow- who's talking about rape? If you read the story, you'll see he had consensual sex. 19 and 15 could happen between a HS Sr and HS Soph.

I could be wrong about FL law - but that's awfully close to the stat rape charge here...

And here's why there "wasn't enough evidence".

The police did not follow the obvious leads that would have quickly identified the suspect as well as witnesses, one of whom videotaped part of the sexual encounter. After the accuser identified Mr. Winston as her assailant, the police did not even attempt to interview him for nearly two weeks and never obtained his DNA.

The detective handling the case waited two months to write his first report and then prematurely suspended his inquiry without informing the accuser. By the time the prosecutor got the case, important evidence had disappeared, including the video of the sexual act.

even the most die hard fan should be disgusted the way the cops handled this

if it was your daughter you would want blood
