Is it worth burning a redshirt on one of the true frosh? It

I really don't see why we don't give Loeb a shot. I would say it can't get worse, but who knows, maybe he'd find a way to be even worse? And in that case, at least there's some entertainment value.

"Allen is great and will be the starter"

"Put in Hunt!!!"

"Look, see... Hunt is great! What were the coaches thinking starting Allen?!!"

"Put Allen back in. "

"Put in a freshman!"

Guilty of #3, to some extent, although I still tried to trust in what the coaches were seeing, just figured Hunt was one of those kids who played better on gameday than practice.

Guilty of #4 because I thought why not by halftime Saturday.

Guilty of #5 because we throw a ton of INTs, can't throw for 100 yards, Hunt is afraid to pull the trigger, Allen is gone after this year, we have 2 QBs anyway with 2 more coming in next year, and because it's the rare case where it truly can't get worse.

So of the three things you were guilty of, 2 were bad moves and one is TBD?

Sounds about right.

I also said that at this point it appears there were no, and are no, right answers.

Just going to be one of those years where we have no passing game. Compares most closely to 2008.

Play Loeb, we have no defense, no offense and suspect special teams. Loeb has earned his chance to get his ass kicked as much as anyone else. I don't see us bowling this year. We are getting blownout by mediocre(GT, NW) to good teams(Clemson). We haven't faced a true NC contender yet, we thought we had but Clemson is nowhere near FSU level obviously. When was the last time we had 4 blowouts in a single season?

Why play Charlie and not get one of the freshman game experience to be honest our pass protection has not been that bad so get some meaningful reps for the guys who might play

We aren't playing for next season yet and can still get a bowl. I would hope a 5th year senior is more ready to lead a team than a true freshman.

I really don't care about burning non-injury redshirts. If a guy is good enough to play and he's physically ready, play him. You rarely see 4-year starters anymore anyway because the guys that could start as frosh go pro after 3 years. You play your best players, regardless of class.

I just can't see Wilson or Kimble being worse than Hunt to be honest. Hunt has been historically bad the last 3 games.

Holy shite. Lol. I'm literally guilty of every line on the list. Yikes

Can't forget the calls to move the starting h-back behind center as well...

Anyone know if there's an established pecking order between the two frosh? I've seen people's preferences for one or the other, but nothing credible on how the coaches have them ordered.

If they are neck and neck, I'd burn the shirt from the one that's trailing in the competition (assuming both are ready enough for game action). Create separation in class years, give the kid a shot to improve his position, and preserve the extra year for the leader. However, there is a definite preference to the point that one of them is considered a potential starter next season, I'd burn his shirt this year.

I wouldn't give either a start right off the bat - throw them some garbage time snaps or a series at some point in a game and see if there's enough potential showing to increase their role.

FWIW, Texas Tech started a true freshman walkon QB the first game of the season. He got hurt and was replaced by another true freshman QB. Bewtween them they have had 3 400+ yard passing games and 3 300+ yard passing games. Now obviously Texas Tech is a poor example of passing stats. But...they are ranked #10 in the country having played 2 different true freshman QB's, neither of whom were "blue chip" recruits.
