Autry would need to be the basketball equivalent of Michael Jordan. Gait is the goat of lax and has an entire brand of equipment - Red not so much.

Kids want to play for Gait - recruiting is much easier for him and less NIL dependent. Not sure that applies to hoops.

Gait now has coached in nine final fours

Yes eight are from the women's side, I know.

No comparison with Red.

You can argue Gary has underachieved with the talent he has had, to a point.

Red hasn't come close to building a roster with talent that Gary has.

On paper sure but we haven't seen the current class play at this level yet, Donnie seems like he can live up to his ranking but still tbd, moore and petar are both gone.

He seemingly can get guys - but what's he do with them once they're here is the biggest question mark

Gary is incredible; Red is the beneficiary of a buyout we cannot afford to pay. Hope I’m wrong but Red is a lame duck.

Completely different sports. Many more teams and coaches you need to be better than in college basketball

Also, Gait realized he needed good assts to do the actual coaching for him. He lets the offensive and defensive coaches do EVERYTHING. He’s just the face of the team. Wish Red would bring in actual assts that could coach!

Our HS recruiting for basketball has been pretty good under Autry.

Its been better because its easier to get top 75 guys right now if you want them.

Many P4 teams focus on building with more experienced players, especially sophomore and juniors which are already established.
