Is the NCAA "Just About Out of Time"?

HOLY *&^%% the judge teared up when reading the verdict.
System sure is something.
I mean, in a horrendous abuse case or something similar, I get it.

But a football case???

ok sure.gif

Interesting. Would the 16 SEC schools go it alone? Who would care if they play each other exclusively. Even the TV audience would eventually lose interest. Would it really matter to the other P-4 schools?

NCAA is out dated.
The players and leagues have all the power.
We will see a fracture of D1 VERY soon if something is not done.
If the SEC doesn't get more and more teams in the playoffs they will take their ball and go form their own league, which honestly I'm not sure why they havent yet.
Only thing that can save the NCAA is to pivot to a pro model of running college sports. They have no real power to much of anything, all a kid has to do is find a judge who is friendly with the university and BAM they get another year.

They are trying to get congress involved

They need to go back to the drawing board because the SCORE act will never be passed and was not good for the athletes anyway.

Allow the players to form a union, enact revenue sharing, hire a commisioner, have overight commitee for NIL etc, and just get ride of the NCAA.

No need to muddy the water with the government involvement. Everyone wins. Players get fair treatment, unvisersities still get money, and it would end up being better for the fans in the end.
