UB in a bowl game?

It'd be a good NY vs. NY game where SU is favored. Win, Win situation for both teams. Much better than SU playing North Texas, or UB playing WSU.

SU gets to play a top 10 NFL prospect. UB gets a shot at glory.

A game worth watching. Makes things interesting.

No thanks. Don't want to give any credence to their claims on NY and elevate them in any way to rival status. NY should be cuse owned 100%. Any perception that they belong on the same field could make them appear as a legit alternative destination inside NY.

sure theres a chance. i think su does better playing army every year - embrace the historical nature of su and army football

I'm more interested in a good football game which it very well could be.

Let's all be honest with each other here. We'll all be long in the ground before UB becomes truly competitive.

I'm just glad to see that Northeast football is improving. Uconn of course is the bane to that.

Don't forget Rutgers. They couldn't best the UCONN behemoth yesterday ;)...

Oh how could I forget, the all inclusive dumpster fire.

I'd rather play North Texas. The only major statistical category Buffalo is in front of North Texas is passing, and that's only by one spot. North Texas has beaten 3 bowl eligible teams while Buffalo has only beaten 1.

The MAC is much more competitive than CUSA. I'm pretty confident North Texas would lose to UB. I suppose you could argue that NT has played the more competitive schedule, though that's debatable, UB has more talent.

Bad idea. No reason to give UB the benefit of playing us.

Brave Clarice. You will let me know when those lambs stop screaming, won't you?

Could not believe my eyes when I saw that score! Really demonstrated the irrevalence of both programs.

I watched as much as I could before throwing up. Rutgers secondary is really, really horrible. And they are still limited on offense by talent and scheme (and Nova).

I hope UB plays Rutgers if the world is unlucky enough to have to deal with RU one more game than it has to.

I hope if I ever get into a debate over the relative strengths of North Texas and Buffalo in football, somebody puts a bullet in my head and ends my misery. If there's not 1000 more productive things I can do with my time than get into that debate, then I'm really not doing much of value any more.

And it would be a major disappointment for Syracuse to be playing Buffalo...but it would be a big deal to Buffalo. It should be noted that the Resident Bulls fan is the only poster so far excited about the prospect. that should tell you something.

It's a big deal for both teams to have the privilege to be in a bowl game this year, period. Neither were projected to make it (SU was on the fringes).

I'm proud of both teams.

Also I'll argue about any football teams, as I'm a football fan.

I wouldn't oppose it. At this point as long as we are selected I will be happy and could care less about the opponent. Still, I remember Ithaca demolishing UB back when I was in school (yes 20 yrs ago) and would be horrified with a loss to them. Times have changed and it would be better than being left out of a bowl.

Would much rather play a bigger program coming off a so-so year like ourselves. There's no winning a UB game. A blowout win, and its "ehhh ya just beat Buffalo." A close win or God forbid a loss and they start telling recruits there's another Div1 program in NY.
