It’s Bo Time NYC

Are those different from Bo-tatoes?
Probably the same. I think the full name is Bo-tato Rounds.

Can't argue with that. I have a Publix within walking distance from my house. But I'd still rather have a Wegmans store overall.
I agree with that. When I lived in Vinings there was a Publix just down the road.

Here in the far northern suburbs of Atlanta, it is either Kroger or Publix for main grocery stores (yeah, we have Whole Foods, Walmart, Target, etc,, but for full on grocery stores, Publix & Kroger dominate). I think Wegmans would do awesome down here. I think they will eventually make there way into the Atlanta area. I used to work at the Onondaga Blvd Wegmans in Syracuse when I was in high school. Not sure how it is now but it was a great place to work as a teen in the late 80s.

There is a Piggly Wiggly in Watertown, of all places
C&S Wholesalers, based in Battleboro, VT, bought that name/chain. They also own the name "Grand Union" and have resurrected several of those in upstate NY, and I think parts of New England. They went on a huge growth spurt in the early 90s, starting with acquiring several former Great Americans after the Victory Markets company of Norwich, NY was sold to a Gordon Gekko wanna be who chopped up VM/GA and sold off parts piecemeal while helping destroy the economy of Norwich and Chenango county. C&S supplied the former stores, and financed the purchase of several, including in Watertown and surrounding areas, while keeping the supply contracts.

My initial thought was that Bojangles referred to the old bar by that name that used to be on Westcott Street. I seem to recall the owner/manager's name was Warren??? located in the same stretch as the theater and coffeehouse (the name of which escapes me, but we referred to it as the "Trostky Cafe").

Bojangles is looking to expand to NYC and into NJ as well. Who knew this wasn’t the 1st time? As an adopted Charlottean I have never really been a fan. In my limited experience their stores tend to be dirty, located in less desirable places and the chicken just isn’t that good. But, hey, the non-stop ACC commercials will be valid for a few more souls.

I’ve been to a Bojangles once and this was my experience. We road tripped down to Atlanta for the Final Four in ‘16 and stopped at one. Chicken was just gross like it had been sitting out all day. We hardly ate any of it.

Egg-Bacon-Cheese biscuit w/cajun fries. I lived in NC for 11 years and this would sure hit the spot right now.
I never went crazy for the chicken, but those biscuit sandwiches are great.

I just don't think they want to compete against Publix.
They already compete with each other here in Raleigh. I think we have more probably have more grocery store competition here than anywhere in the country. In addition to Wegman’s and Publix we have Harris Teeter, Lowe’s Food, Whole Foods, Fresh Market, Sprouts, Lidl, Trader Joe’s, Aldi, Food Lion, Walmart, Target, and Carlie Cs (IGA). That doesn’t include the non chain local places or Costco, BJs, and Sam’s Club.

As a public service and FYI- my nephew is a code violations inspector w/ Meck County here in CLT. He said the worst cases he's cited were usually Bojangles, and recommended against eating the chicken. The wife loves their peach cobblers and fruity biscuits, but I've never been a fan. The Colonel is still the goat, IMO.
