The seat that I sat in for the Cherry Bowl was broken.I wonder if we could get a deal on the blue seats?
That's crazy. And sad. Didn't know it was just sitting there still.

I love the fact that The History Channel has a sign in that first photo.
There's at least a million $$$s worth of stuff to be stripped and sold in there.
Skip to 59 seconds (doesn't seem to let me embed it at 59sec).
How cool would it be, if during the transition to the new stadium/dome, they tore the roof off this and played the last game at the Carrier Dome exposed to the elements. Wouldnt that add to the draw of the final game. Now this would only work if the new stadium was available for basketball season.
Edit...would have to be a day game, no lights lol
Double edit, probably wouldnt work, we'd lose the PA speakers too...
oh well, was a great idea
I can understand the shots at Detroit given how it's portrayed by the media. It has been a difficult/sad few decades for the city. I now call it home and have seen some great changes over the past 7 years. I admittedly get a bit defensive when I hear negativity towards a proud city. Come visit either for the CMU Football game or the hoops game in Dec. I will host and assure you a great time. It's just trying to fit into the rest of he Detroit landscape.
I was just having some fun. I am glad it is getting better. I've seen TV shows that portrayed pockets of home. I know Detroit had a great past and home it gets better.I can understand the shots at Detroit given how it's portrayed by the media. It has been a difficult/sad few decades for the city. Can't believe the turf didn't at least go to a pop warer field some where.
Crazy.
I was at that game. Great Day, had alot of fun the stadium was decked out in all its glory. Wynalda free kick tied it 1-1I drove through Pontiac a few years ago and had to stay at a hotel nearby. I had a perfect view of the Silverdome from my room and snapped a photo. The roof was obviously still up then, but I remember just how eerie and depressing the whole scene was. Empty parking lots with weeds growing through. It was a monument to a dead culture. The last time I had seen it before then was in 1994 for the World Cup, US vs Switzerland. The place was packed, there were parties all over the parking lots...there was so much life around it. It really is sad to see it delapitated like that. They should just knock the thing down.
