The Dome was electric. This team could have been national champions except for one unfortunate injury. College basketball was such a much better product back then. I would bet some of you have never seen or don't remember seeing this video.

One of my all time favorite teams. The definition of the sum being greater than the parts. Legit NC contender.

In the college sports world, it's been a long time since we've been relevant. Fortunately, in the college sports world it only takes one season to be relevant again.

I mean the last time Cuse was a top 4 seed and a true title contender was 2014 with Ennis, CJ Fair. That team stumbled into the tournament as well but def thought we could a final 4.

That was 12 years ago.

I get the Final 4 run with Silent G, Richardson, Lydon. But deep down, I knew we had very slim odds of beating UNC in the final 4. Took a miracle to beat UVA in elite 8. Just a hot tournament

This was my all-time favorite team. Such an incredible surprise seeing that team vault up to #1 in the country and snag a 1 seed, especially after losing Flynn, Devo, and Harris from the year before and falling to LeMoyne in the exhibition. I still believe that team wins the national championship if AO hadn't gotten injured.

That was fantastic. Thank you for posting it.

Did anyone else notice that every player on that team looked ripped: so much more fit than we are now. Am I crazy?

16 years ago is a long time, unfortunately.

Long enough for high school and college players to have zero recollection of Syracuse being a top 10 program.

Just for perspective, 16 years would mean that a kid who would have been in kindergarten in 2010 would be be graduating from college in a few months.

I swear I have this conversation every season when talking to friends. What could have been...

The Athletic has a story today headlined that this will be the best NCAA tourney field ever.
Syracuse won’t be in it barring a miracle run in the ACC tournament.

SU is now irrelevant….a nobody in college hoops.
That may hurt.
But it’s true.
It has been a looong time since an Orange team was considered any good.

That is the turnaround that lies ahead.
