All this realigment has been is a slow motion merger of the Old BE and the ACC with Conf USA taking the Old BE's name and BCS bid. In a few years every old BE team that plays football except the UConn/Rutgers loser that doesn't get an invite could be in the ACC, 7 of the old 9 (not counting booted Temple and counting ND even though they didn't play their football in the BE). Meanwhile old Conf USA teams LVille, Cincy, Marq, Depaul, USF, Cent Fl, Houston, SMU, Memphis are already in the New BE and if ND and say UConn moved to ACC my guess is E Carolina and maybe Southern Miss could be next in line... making 11 Conf USA teams. Really wouldn't it have just been less painful to announce a merger in 2005 with the ACC, excluding just Rutgers so they can stay in the BE or pursue the Big 10 and WVU since they don't meet academics to pursue the Big 12 and just let Conf USA have the BCS bid? lol
