I didn't think that was dumb. What I found weird was not starting Dungey in the third. What I thought was stupid was waiting so long to put him back in.

Hmm...maybe. Regardless, we didn’t move the ball at all when Eric was out. And the defense was horrid in the 3rd quarter and only so so in the 4fh. So while the fumble got the ball rolling, you can’t blame 1 bad play for all the bad ones that followed.

Extremely poor to take Eric out in the first half, just gives the opponent the halftime opportunity to say we don't respect them (plus ys not getting extra points). At least wait until the second half, but definitely need to end the experiment sooner than he did today.

Great question. Maybe he had confidence that the guy that scored on every drive in the first half could do it again. Seems like a heck of a gamble if so.

Or he wanted to give TD as much opportunity as possible to see if he could turn it around. Either way we learned where we are today, we won, and we have a slew of things to hopefully fix.

I think part of that is think, read and react as well and they struggle with that.

I'll go ahead and say it. Dungey does not and will not recognize he isn't invincible. He will not alter his style of play regardless of opponent or score. Dino knows this. Last night was an attempt at two things. Protect Dungey from himself in an early game. Get Devito quality reps in a real game situation with a cushion to play with because he feels it's likely the kid will have to do it with the game on the line at some point this year.
