It's Official: It’s GMac

Does anyone know when we can expect the press conference to happen? I know the school hasn't even announced GMac yet, but there's only one ACC team left in the dance so it's not like they'd be pulling attention away from anything.
It's called the SU Women's basketball team???? Pulling from their game today. I would figure unless some crazy miracle happens, and we beat UConn without our best player, the announcement will be tomorrow morning. Probably be then even if the miracle happens.

I think NHL coaches are the only ones that still wear them. But they generally stand in one spot the whole game. Kinda funny that the one sport that lets two guys stand toe to toe and punch away is the one where the coaches dress up.

Hoops coaches dressing casually/comfortably during a game isn't something that bothers me.
I'm a boomer, and I say ditch the suits. Nice matching athleticware.

That's cool, but it's only half the equation. Those two dudes may not be thick, but they're strong. They play strong. Pace is one aspect, but you can't play at your own pace unless you can withstand contact and still be on balance and in control of your body. Kiyan has to get much stronger. The 'strength he has' is insufficient.

You may be referring to a majority of fans who post on this site. Not a majority of fans overall. As Geno said yesterday, naysayers tend to post more.
A majority of fans who post on this site are definitely more passionate and thus tend to be more critical, true. But the majority of fans overall has been affected differently. First I believe the number of fans must have dropped significantly based on game attendance (announced tickets sold vs a near empty dome) and some of them are not coming back, plus we are not gaining young fans due to the ten year decline and failure to produce a pipeline if NBA stars. Those fans who hung around are having a hard time going to games and making it a family outing if they can't convert their kids to new orange fans. To say the average overall fans are less patient is not unreasonable, they just react differently. The fans on this board will kick and scream and post "remember when we..." threads, the average fan would just turn the lights off then quietly let themselves out.

I understand what you're saying and I get it. My point is that I think those who remain fans who do not post on this site will be more patient than many fans on this site, some of whom might still oppose GMac as the coach, not because of him personally but because they thought it should have been someone "outside the family" with more experience and/or are better coaches.

YES Network. 2013. 2:24 long. Last question -- an indication of JB's view of GMac. It was then that I thought Gerry would be the head coach of this team some day. He has shown that toughness both before and ever since.

Not really. Women’s team was still alive (technically) and it’s possible some details are still being ironed out. I wouldn’t sweat it.
Ohhhh ok. That all makes sense. I am always cautious because I have seen plenty of things not get ironed out. Haha.

They’re strong now. They weren’t always, especially Shai. He can get there, just a matter of how quickly.

I don’t think we’ve lost fans who wouldn’t come back. The ones lost are ones who bought tickets to see a winning team. If the team wins, the fans will follow. My experience as a young kid was my dad buying tickets to the game and telling me to get in the car. That was true for Crunch games, SU games, monster truck shows, whatever. Didn’t really matter if I was a big fan at the time, it was something fun to do with dad/family. So getting kids interested again shouldn’t be all that hard either.

Win and the rest takes care of itself.
